I have to wonder if Harris' declining defense is a product of several years of nagging injuries, rather than the system/enviropnment. He definitely HAD the ability to be a good defender, but I'm wondering if all the injuries have robbed him of that ability.

After what we've just gone through with Brandon Roy (and Greg Oden), I'm not too keen on acquiring another "key piece" with a long history of injuries.

So, let me get this straight... With all the injuries and the depleted roster this team has, we are supposed to be irrate at a guy who is healthly and wants to play more minutes? Yeah, that makes sense.

It's almost as crazy as turning on your best player for wanting the ball more.

I never turned on Roy. I wish him the best and hope he can somehow find a way to again be a contributing member of this team - like Andre Miller. Right now Miller is playing and Roy isn't. So, I'm pulling for Miller to play well, and Roy to get well. I don't see any inconsistancy there.

P.S. Roy isn't our best player. Aldridge is, and the way he's been playing, I'm all for getting him the ball more.

But, I'm also pulling for Roy to once again be a positive contributor for this team.

I understand why 'Dre is upset. He's a competitor. It was a big game, and he wasn't in for many of the important moments. He's been around long enough, however, to know the score. He knows he's viewed as an expiring deal and knows he likely won't finish the season as a Blazer.

The fact is, however, that MIA could more easily defend Miller than Mills. Most nights that won't be the case.

I don't think it is being irrate at a guy who is healthy and wants more minutes, it's being irate at his comments after the game where he voiced displeasure and took a shot at the coach.

Miller is a trippy guy. I get that he doesn't like to socialize and is an introvert. But along with that is a personality that lashes out from time to time (on the court and off). It's comes across passive aggressive in a way.

As far as trading him, I don't think his strange ways affects the team much, so I say only for an upgrade at the PG spot.

When Roy made those comments he was the best player on the team. People have been getting on him since last year.

Basically all I'm saying is if you're going to criticize the best player on the team for talking about his role to the papers then it would make sense if people do the same thing for Miller. Roy was the face of the franchise. Miller's just a good PG who won't be here for very long.

I just hate that imo Miller came in here and didn't respect that this way Roy's team. It seems like he came here and thought this young team needed a guy to run the show for them. Not the case. This team already had a great player to do that. Miller would have none of it and he pouted when he was put on the bench.

People try to act like Roy is the main reason they never got along but imo the problem has been more Miller than Roy. Miller couldn't accept his role from day 1 as a Blazer and now here he is again not accepting his role. I don't like it.

We try to get a more structured offense in the fourth, and start controlling our pace. The guys for some reason get more stagnant, and don't cut as much as they do earlier in the game (Patty had an awesome cut yesterday). Anyway, with little movement off the ball, Dre kills our spacing. I'm totally fine with Patty running point at the time.

If anything, I'd actually support a Rudy @ PG lineup, with Wes, Nic, LA, and Camby to finish out games.

He may SEEM to get a lot of steals, but Andre Miller has a higher STL% (2.9 vs. 2.5) and gets more steals/36 (1.9 vs. 1.7). Mills also gets fewer assists (29.3 vs. 37.6 AST%) and turns the ball over more (20.2 vs. 17.6 TOV%).

I know Patty is everyone's flavor of the month in our never ending search for PGOTF, but he's not REALLY a PG. I'm pleased with his scoring off the bench, but the only thing he does better than Miller at this point is shoot 3-pointers. Miller actually has the edge in FG% (0.450 vs. 0.427) and TS% (0.525 vs. 0.522), and of course, PER (19.0 vs. 12.7).

Patty Mills is fine as a spark plug off the bench, but if he ever becomes our starting PG, we're in big trouble.

Truth is this has never been Roy's team.

Oh sure, Nate said it was and Roy talks about it like it's a prized possession of his, but nobody on this team except Steve Blake ever embraced Roy as their leader or made any attempt to change their style to fit with his "give me the ball and wait" iso's. Every time he has been out of action over the years the team has been visibly happier on the court and there has never been any drop in success.

I think we'd have been blown out by Miami had (a healthy) Roy played.

Ya, lot of reasons to jump on Miller for that. Wanting to play in crunch time how dare he!
