A Millsap, LMA, Oden Trio makes me think of Grant, Sheed and Sabonis ... that lineup seemed to work out pretty well until Grant decided he wanted out, so it's not unprecedented. Edit: I don't think Millsap is too small to play the five, it just wouldn't be something you'd want to do for more than 10-15 minutes a game, or depending on matchups; I'd take him against most backup 5s currently in the league FWIW.
I love this move. I hate the Jazz, and this move puts them between a rock and a hard place. The worst case scenario for us is we'll put Utah in a deathgrip where they're paying three guys $40MM (Williams, Kirilenko, Millsap) with little ability to improve. I think this was a move to force Utah to move Boozer for cheap if they want our cap space.
You're forgetting Okur, who was just signed to a new extension. And I may be wrong, but I thought they had someone else on a big contract as well.
The attempted signing only makes sense if we turn around and move Przybilla, but I would take Pryz over The Paperboy any day... Especially with the contract disparity. I just don't get it, other than to mess with Utah. (I thought we were saving that venom for Memphis?)
I love the move. Any time you can weaken a division opponent is a great move, and it forces them to choose between Boozer and Millsap and puts the ball in their court now. But it won't be easy trying to figure out how the minutes will be evened out.
AK 47 has the richest contract on the team, I believe. Two more years for a total of 35 million or some such madness. Deron Williams is probably getting paid a decent amount as well.
