If that's the case, I'll trade him for Paul George tomorrow and Bird will be happy!

Sounds like He's headed to Toronto.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/source...nner-to-land-former-no--1-pick-212337844.html

Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft, passed through waivers without a claim on Friday and will become an unrestricted free agent, league sources told Yahoo Sports. The Toronto Raptors are a strong frontrunner to sign Bennett, a native of the city, to a deal, league sources said.

    Nvm... This was posted earlier..

It's Damon Stoudamire in reverse, only Damon was actually considered a catch. What could go wrong?

Or maybe Triano is too close to him and is blinded by bias? :dunno:

I disagree. I think that's a bad analogy. In his rookie season Damon averaged 20/10 and was R.O.Y. Bennett has so far proven to be a bust.

"Damon was actually considered a catch." What exactly are you disagreeing with? The analogy was about both returning home (edit: and Toronto/Portland being involved to some extent in both scenarios) and that supposedly being a good thing. It was a very bad thing for Damon. Sure, Bennett has eliminated much of the high expectations at this point, but there's still a lot of pressure to perform with a hometown crowd, and that tends to make athletes crack and do stupid things, no pun intended.

Why am I being told this?

Handiman said "The same was said of Meyers, even when people here ragged on him for working on his 3-pt shooting. Now, he's being half-seriously compared to Larry Bird of all people."

I asked a simple question. Who, outside the forum and Blazer employees, compared Leonar_ to Larry Bird.

Then instead of answering for his ridiculous statement, he takes a shot at me by saying "I wouldn't expect you to ever admit to being so heinously wrong about Leonard. Move along, nothing to see here."

Then back and forth, and I'm told to grow up.

Leonar_ has a below average PER for an NBA player. I'd like to know first, how I was heinously wrong, and who compared him to Bird outside this forum or one center court.

Why ae you interjecting yourself into this? I get called out all the time when I misquote stats or whatever. Why no interjection then?

He's a big boy. Answer the question.

Doesn't Larry Bird have almost as many illegitimate children as Shawn Kemp?

I guess Meyers could be one of them.

The only "comparison" I've seen (outside the organization and this forum) between Nards and Bird is that are both in the very small group of forwards who've had 50-40-90 seasons, albeit Nards on a much smaller scale. However, it is valid to state that one has been compared to the other.

Yea, if it's true he's gonna sign for the min, Blazers must agree he's likely a bust.
