thats all it means really. He wanted X, he signed for X, thats what he'll get. Either in Portland or Minnesota.

At roughly $11m/per I think you match easily.

Going into the summer I thought that was his ceiling.

    Fuck you, Kahn!

It's more than Gallinari and less than Deng/Iggy

    Dwight Jaynes ‏@dwightjaynes
Folks, if he wanted to be here, he'd have come to an agreement with the Trail Blazers. It's that simple.>>>>>>

Did you expect Jaynes to say anything different?

Lol at this line by Jaynes

The Blazers were letting him set his market. Why pay him more if no one was going to give him more? Why bid against themselves?

They probably told Batum get an offer you like and we'll match it.

This is my opinion, too. If we don't get Hibbert, then we will probably struggle to get into the playoffs even with Batum. So we might as well go young and maybe get a good draft pick again next year, while saving some cap flexibility for the future.

Re: Minnesota wants Batum @ ~12M a year

If he doesn't have a hardball offer to call the Blazers' bluff, the Blazers would lowball him. To get full value, he had to get that offer.

No big deal, IMO. In fact, I'm convinced he visited Minne first and Minne only because that's the team that would likely offer him the most.

That being said, I thought Minne wouldn't have the cap space after agreeing to terms with B-Roy?

    From the Woj

Minnesota's considered pitching a Derrick Williams-Martell Webster sign-and-trade for Nic Batum, sources say. Portland would reject it.

I do that deal. Martell comes off the books and Williams can play backup PF.

They are both overrated players with low motors. I call it a draw.

What the fuck am I missing here. Did I only see the games Williams played well? I would take that deal in a heart beat. But I would ask for a PG instead. Minny has 3 of them. They would give up one.

Well they will have to amnesty someone on 7/11 before signing the offer sheet.
