i think james will probably be a 3rd option at least on the team with KG being first and Ricky being second. Plus the t-wolves also have foye now who could overtake the spot of james. If he is their third scorer and avereging 18 a game they will have an incredible season.

i think 1 person said 7.2 and another said 6.8...both are pretty high IMO.

He's never, ever been a passing point guard. He has always been an offensive minded point guard that will look for his shot first. If you don't believe me, look at his stats. Prior to last year, his career high for an entire season was 4.2. That's not going to change. If he can't average more than 2.9 apg with the Rockets, you know, the team with Yao and TMac, there's no way he's going to be averaging over 7 per game just cause he's on the same team as TMac.

Actually I don't think the reason Mike James won't average 7+ APG is because he can't. His passing skills have never been looked to be utilized by a team, he's not a bad passer. In Houston they played a slow pace, he was hardly used as a playmaker, and played 25.6 MPG.

The reason Mike James won't average 7.2 APG, or likely not even 6 APG is the team he's on.

Look at Minnesotta for a second, these are their playmakers:
    Mike James
    Kevin Garnett
    Ricky Davis
    Randy Foye
    Marko Jaric

In the starting lineup you already have Garnett who will have the ball in his hands for 4-5 APG, then Ricky for at least 3-4 APG. If you have Mike James putting up 7 APG, then those 3 alone are already combining for 14-16 APG of the teams probably about 20-21 APG. So you're telling me that the rest of the team is only going to get 5-6 APG?

Trenton Hassell last season was already getting 2.6 APG, Marko will get at least 3-4 APG, and Randy Foye should get at least 2-3 APG. The other guys together should get like 246 assists (or more) for the season, so like 3 APG. Minnesotta does no score enough to be averaging like 27 APG as a team, and they won't be. So when putting the stats, you have to look at the whole picture.

Mike James playing with KG and being a better player does not mean getting more assists, not it's not an impossibility, but if he is, then someone else will have to lose their playmaking role.
