Yes, you are correct on everything you said. EVERY NBA coach knows more than us. They get hired and fired by people who know more than us. Can we criticize them? Absolutely. However, it seems that a lot of the people that criticize the most are arm chair quarterbacks and that point out mistakes after the fact. I also notice that people often fail to take stamina, rotation, chemistry, future rotations/matchups, past achievements, and experience into consideation when they want people getting more minutes. But the biggest laugher is when people criticize the X's and O's of NBA coaches. I'm sure all of you must everyone here is an expert at their job. Think about how if Joe Blow came off the street and made some snap shot judgment of what you are doing, but he's never been in any meeting, isn't aware of the prep work, or doesn't know the restrictions that you are facing going into your final product. I'm sure you'd think that guy was an idiot. Sure, he has every right to be an idiot, but that doesn't mean he should be an idiot. I don't mind people offering suggetions, but when they make concrete statements that imply they know what's going on better than some NBA coach, then they should be put in their place IMO.
I understand, and now see the difference between general criticisms and specific ones and why you make that distinction. Personally, I almost never criticize specific moves or plays because I DON'T know nearly as much as even the least knowledgable NBA assistant about that stuff... at the same time I have doubts about Nate's ability to get the most out of this team both in the short and long runs. Ed O.
I rarely, if ever, recall thinking you crossed that "know-it-all" level. I think Nate, to this point, has to be one of the best fits for this team. Is he the perfect fit long term? Don't know. Can we get a better coach? I don't see one available right now.
I've been saying this all season... But it's funny how some kept thinking we should trade Webster when Outlaw was playing well. If Outlaw plays decently today, we'll get those posts again. Flavor of the week I guess.
