Definitely National League. Really don't like the American league rules.

Portland Diamond Project Now Looking at Third Site for Proposed Major League Baseball Stadium
Group earlier bid on PPS and ESCO properties and is now looking at Port of Portland's Terminal Two.

The Portland Diamond Project is exploring a third site for a potential Major League Baseball stadium.
A spokeswoman for the Port of Portland confirmed to WW today that the Diamond Project has approached the port about Terminal Two, a little-used marine facility located at 3356 Northwest Front Ave., on the west bank of the Willamette River northwest of the Fremont Bridge.

"We've been approached by the Portland Diamond Project about T-2 and in reaction to that, we've been open to a conversation," port spokeswoman Melanie Mesaros tells WW.

Mesaros declined to answer questions about the terms of that conversation.

"We aren't able to get into further details because we're under a non-disclosure agreement," she says.

Portland Diamond Project spokesman John McIsaac was unavailable for comment.

The little-used 53-acre terminal does not serve the port's three main lines of marine business: grain, bulk minerals or vehicles.

The Diamond Project earlier made preliminary bids for industrial property in Northwest Portland owned by ESCO Corp., a metal foundary and for the Portland Public Schools headquarters in North Portland. (The group was also reportedly interested in another riverside facility, Terminal One, which was owned by the city of Portland, rather than the port, and sold to Lithia Motors last year.)

Screw Ted Wheeler all to hell. If baseball actually does come to PDX, good old Ted Knows Best will make sure that the stadium will have absolutely NO parking and the only way to access the stadium will be either mass transit or bicycles. God PLEASE make sure this idiot keeps his hands out of the mix......

Its going to happen.. Probably in the next 10 years we will have a team. I give it a longer window in case the mlb takes a bit to expand.

I heard this morning that Russell Wilson and his wife are going to invest in the team.

Someone on Reddit brought up an interesting point.

None of the investors really have pro sports money. This could all be scam to get property at less than market value, make a show of an effort to get a team, and then when it falls through they sell the property at a huge profit.

Except no one knows who the investors are. They have not been revealed and I seriously doubt Russell Wilson would join the group if he wasn't confident the money was there (or could be there). I'd also like to think that he wouldn't be involved in a property scam shortly after signing a $87 million dollar contract of which $61 million is guaranteed......not to mention Ciara. Doubt she'd want to be involved in a property scam either.

That's not really true. We know one of them was a Nike exec. We know about Mike Barrett. I'm pretty sure some of the names have been released.

I like the DH, but I like offense more than pitching. Although pitching wins in the postseason.

The progressive liberals in this city will block it big time. They'd rather spend the money on bicycle paths and/or trams.
I just hope that the ownership group are, savvy libertarians, with fiscal old fashion baseball, balls!

They don't have a say. Supposedly they're not asking for public money.
