Don't get the blue. Portland's city flag is green and yellow; why change it?
Nationally, I guarantee you many, many more people know what an oriole is. They are a common bird east of the Mississippi. Osprey, are not. In fact, the Baltimore Oriole is a sub-species. We had them in the trees in our yard when I was a kid growing up in Indiana. Never saw an Osprey until I moved to Oregon.
Might was well call them the Portland Puke.
I really like this color combo:
Bridge & Roses
My choice aside from the Mavericks:
Bring back the Breakers!
A lot of names are abstract though. I dont tha k itd be an issue.
I hate the color scheme.
Portland Albatross. It's a bird that is 'widespread' (wingspan) and a future description of the franchise.
Aside from Homer, this is the best thing posted thus far. (That Pioneers thing is crap!)
Send it in as a suggestion to Mike Barrett.
Unemployment is insurance. That's what needs to be fixed not adding more people to the demographic called "the working poor". And no, I wouldn't trade a baseball team for that.
I like the breakers but it would be better as the Oregon Breakers. There are no breakers in portland we got that name form boston when they moved out here?
I love this for obvious reasons.
Meyers can be the mascot
Because those are the Timber's colors.
Pines of the Pacific Northwest
That would be the Portland Cartwheels.
I kinda like it
Separate names with a comma.
