    Still I am not buying it. Just doesn't pass the smell test. A tail can wag the dog but when it's the MLB equivalent of low rent boutique shop it makes no sense. Now Portlanders sitting in front of their HDTV's and complaining on social media that the billionaire investors interested in their city aren't the kind they want? That sounds like something that could give any local politician a stiffy.

    You have very obviously never followed the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes or attended one of their games. The Hops have a great organization (and stadium) but fortunately for them, they have had the Volcanoes template to follow. We’re lucky to have two such terrific options within driving distance.....

    You are correct. Never been to a Volcanoes game. I've seen their stadium driving by on I-5 and it looks nice.

    Did anybody see the list of investors in the baseball project? I was less than impressed. If you combined the net worth of all those people you would be well short of $1B.

    They're listed as "Charter Investors" and provided the money needed to get the project off the ground. I'm sure that taking the next step would have to involve finding a major investor or two. Or ten.
