The Phoenix Wolves Hold Real Salt Lake at Bay
    [IMG]

SANDY, Utah (April 22, 2013) - The first meeting between Phoenix FC of USL PRO and The Reserves of Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer ended in a scoreless draw Monday night in front of a crowd of 8,263 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, UT.

The match’s first half was highlighted by brawl that earned three red cards: goalkeeper Andrew Weber and defender Renan Felipe Boufleur were ejected for Phoenix FC; and defender Kwame Watson-Siriboe for Real Salt Lake. Following a missed Real Salt Lake free kick attempt, a scuffle at the edge of Phoenix FC’s box quickly turned into both teams fighting.

Blues storm back from deficit, but Galaxy take 4-3 win

    Tuesday, May 7, 2013

CARSON, Calif. – After jumping out to a four-goal lead, the LA Galaxy held on for dear life and picked up their first win of the MLS Reserve League season, beating the Los Angeles Blues 4-3 on Tuesday night at The Home Depot Center. Gyasi Zardes scored once and assisted on two others while also earning a penalty to lead the Galaxy to the win in their first game of the year against the USL PRO club.

It took just five minutes for the Galaxy to get on the board as a Zardes cross from the right wing found Michael Stephens streaking into the center of the box. The midfielder powered a right-footed shot into the corner of the net for his first goal of the season, giving his side a 1-0 lead.

Zardes and Stephens nearly combined a few minutes later, only for Stephens to see his shot rattle off the crossbar. However, the Galaxy would double their lead in the 17th minute when Zardes and Jimenez combining to set up Chandler Hoffman for his first goal of the year. A long period of sustained possession and passing led to Jimenez picking out Hoffman to make the score 2-0.

VSI lets three-goal lead slip in 4-4 draw in interleague clash

    Saturday, June 1, 2013

PLANT CITY, Fla. -- VSI Tampa Bay FC and the Portland Timbers Reserves played to a 4-4 draw after both teams weathered the first day of hurricane season in typical Florida style, waiting patiently through the lightning delays for kickoff. Tampa Bay held a 4-1 halftime lead, but the Timbers Reserves rallied in the second half to earn a point, Sal Zizzo scoring the game-tying goal from the penalty spot with just over 20 minutes to play.

After a delayed warm-up, VSI kicked off nearly an hour later than originally intended, but the hosts were able to take the lead quickly as Andriy Budnyy gave Tampa Bay the lead in the opening minute. The Timbers Reserves retaliated quickly, bouncing back in the first five minutes with a goal from midfielder Michael Nanchoff.

Crew Reserves Rally Past Dutch Lions
Columbus takes 3-1 victory against Dayton on Wednesday night

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Dayton Dutch Lions fell to a second consecutive defeat as the Columbus Crew Reserves rallied from a halftime deficit to take a 3-1 victory at Crew Stadium on Wednesday night. The Dutch Lions remained in seventh place in the USL PRO standings as goals by Ben Speas, Tyson Wahl and Tony Tchani gave the Crew Reserves victory.

The two teams had played to a 4-4 draw in their first meeting in interleague play this season, but there would be fewer fireworks on Wedneday night. While both the Crew Reserves and Dutch Lions had chances to take the lead in the opening half, neither side was able to find a decisive finish until the final five minutes before the break. The Dutch Lions took the lead in the 42nd minute as as Tjeerd Westdijk fired home a half-volley off a cross by Gibson Bardsley. The goal was Westdijk's fifth this season.

Kickers Extend Unbeaten Streak to 22 Games to Conclude West Coast Swing

VANCOUVER, BC – The Richmond Kickers concluded their three-game west coast swing in style with a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Reserves Tuesday night. Franchise all-time leading scorer Matthew Delicâte and defender Conor Shanosky scored on either side of the half to give the road weary Kickers the lead for the majority of the match before Whitecaps forward Kekuta Manneh pulled a goal back in stoppage time.
