Re: MMA Random Thoughts Thread I just got UFC: Best of 2008 on Blu Ray on Amazon.com for about $13 (total steal, MSRP is $19.99). It's a lot better than last year's edition of Best Of. I'm watching Forrest/Rampage right now. I want to find out how Forrest wins this fight. After 1 round: 10-9, Rampage.
Re: MMA Random Thoughts Thread The nut huggery of Griffin by Rogan is disgusting. After Round 4, 10-9 Rampage. 38-37, Rampage. Yeah, I just don't see how Forrest won this fight. It's in the past though, I'd like to see these two fight again.

Re: MMA Random Thoughts Thread I am watching prelims from the latest fight night. Brock Larson just thoroughly dismantled Jesse Sanders. Does Larson have a future in the 170 division in the UFC? will he be able to keep up with the Koschecks, the Alveses?
Re: MMA Random Thoughts Thread Larson is very good. Hard to say if he can crack the top ten. The talent pool at welterweight is deeper than it seems. GSP just makes it look worse than it is.
Re: MMA Random Thoughts Thread I re-watched that GSP/Serra II fight. Jesus, GSP just dominated. I don't think any one will beat him for awhile if Alves doesn't.
Re: MMA Random Thoughts Thread Well Alves is imo the toughest matchup out there for him. The guy is a massive WW, has a lot of power, showed excellent takedown defense on Kos.
Re: MMA Random Thoughts Thread Kos had a shit game plan, though. Matt Hughes was able to take Alves down, so I don't think GSP will have trouble. I don't know if that will be GSP's approach but if it is, Alves can't stop it.
Re: MMA Random Thoughts Thread I'm torn. On one hand I want all of the top talent under one org so we see the best facing the best all of the time. Just like in the NBA. For MMA right now that'd be the UFC. I'm tired of this fractured system where we have to cross our fingers and hope we see Fedor vs Lesnar/Couture or Aoki vs Sean Sherk or how Overeem would do in the UFC HW division. On the other hand, when I think of how the UFC cuts fighters so easily rather than pay them and how the WWE became stagnant once the WCW was gone, I think competition is good for the UFC. It makes them have to work harder. This isn't the NBA with guarunteed contracts and fighters get screwed over a lot IMO so let there be competition. see... I'm torn.
