Mo's scoring had a strong correlation with our winning, but not because Mo was super special, just that he was the only guy off the bench scoring consistently. You get another legit scorer in there, two maybe, and our need for Mo in particular goes way way down.

Like who? He was a very strong presence off the court, like a big brother to some of the young guys. Can't measure that stuff on a stat sheet.

So true. Mo is a good mgs player. It's laughable people want to use the mle on a guy like Chalmers, who is worse than Mo. I'd give everyone two months into the season before they would be throwing Chalmers under the bus

Who wants Chalmers? Chalmers is awful.

Would really like to see 'Dre running our bench.
I know people want a defensive PG, but if our back-up PG can't run an offense then that renders the rest of the bench moot.

Did you mean two games? ;)

This board comes out firing like Vinnie "The Microwave" Johnson. Season-long opinions are formed overnight. And defended to the death. ;)

I'd take DJ Augustin. Similar minutes, points and assists but a much better 3-pt shooter and 5 years younger.

Mo sees the vision. Lebron to portland and we can sign him for a 3 year deal.

It was mentioned in another thread, but Jameer Nelson might be cut, i bet he'd be an okay upgrade.

This isn't news. He has said all along that he would opt out and test the market.

I think we'd be better without him, to create minutes for Crabbe. Also McCollum and Barton.

Instead of signing a new substitute PG, just split sub PG between McCollum and Watson. That won't be as good as Mo, but we need to develop all these young players.

I don't really want to see the Mo I saw in the playoffs again. Not sure what other options are out there.

If Mo signs elsewhere I'd consider Nate Robinson as a 6 man

Imagine if that is why mo opted out, because he's coming for vet min so we can get lbj. Maybe lebron promised no a ring In Cleveland lol

Seriously though would you be surprised if mo is playing with lebron next season?

I would be surprised if Mo reunited with LBJ.
I remember hearing Mo was about to retire after LBJ left the Cavs. That it hurt him deeply. Basketball has a business side and I'm sure Mo understands that... But I don't remember ever hearing if their relationship was repaired... But that's most likely because I don't follow LBJ like sheep.

Some free agent point guards that I'd prefer we sign before Mo:
    Kyle Lowry, 17.9 ppg, 7.4 apg, 3.0 a/t, 42.3 ft%, 38.0 3p%, 20.2 PER, 8 yrs (not going to sign for the MLE)
    Darren Collison, 11.4 ppg, 3.7 apg, 2.2 a/5, 46.7 fg%, 37.6 3p%, 16.2 PER, 5 yrs
    Mario Chalmers, 9.8 ppg, 4.9 apg, 2.2 a/t, 45.4 fg%, 38.5 3p%, 14.1 PER, 6 yrs
    Shaun Livingston, 8.3 ppg, 3.2 apg, 2.3 a/t, 48.3 fg%, 16.7 3p%, 14.5 PER, 9 yrs
    Patty Mills, 10.2 ppg, 1.8 apg, 2.3 a/t, 46.4 fg%, 42.5 3p%, 18.8 PER, 5 yrs
    DJ Augustin, 13.1 ppg, 4.4 apg, 2.4 a/t, 41.5 fg%, 40.1 3p%, 16.2 PER, 6 yrs
    Ramon Sessions, 12.3 ppg, 4.1 apg, 2.3 a/t, 42.9 fg%, 28.2 3p%, 16.0 PER, 7 yrs
    Aaron Brooks, 9.0 ppg, 3.2 apg, 2.0 a/t, 40.1 fg%, 38.7 3p%, 12.5 PER, 6 yrs

    Mo Williams, 9.7 ppg, 4.3 apg, 2.2 a/t, 41.7 fg%, 36.9 3p%, 11.9 PER, 11 yrs

With that being said, we do own the non-bird rights to Mo, and could bring him back at 120% of his previous salary without losing our MLE or BAE. Bring on two solid bench players with the MLE and BAE, then re-sign Mo as our 3rd guy off the bench. I'm not a big fan of Mo, but I'd prefer to have him on the roster than say Claver or Crabbe.
