    Hey TheAnswer,

    I just double checked your salary cap for this season, and unfortunately, there's no way you can sign Nash yet.

    The most you can offer is the midlevel exception and even there I'm fudging it a bit for you because the Karl Malone signing sort of techically filled that spot.

    Antonio Davis 12 mil
    Jerome Williams 6 mil
    Scottie Pippen 5 mil
    Eddie Robinson 5 mil
    Tyson Chandler 4 mil
    Eddy Curry 3 mil
    Ben Gordon 2.8 mil
    Kirk Hinrich 2.3 mil
    Luol Deng 1.9 mil
    Chris Jefferies 1.2 mil
    Total: about 43 mil

    Technically you can wait to sign Gordon and Deng which would have you at about 38 mil, because even if you're over the cap you can sign your 1st round picks. That woulda left you with about 7 mil.

    But then you added Rasheed Wallace at about 6 mil. And then Karl Malone for 5 mil.

    Nash at 9-10 mil is past your budget for this season. The best you can offer in reality is the midlevel exception which you might have technically filled with Malone.

    Not to be a rules lawyer, but that's like a lot over the cap. You've gotta work out a sign-and-trade or some other deal to make that work.
