I realized I can't trade Jamison yet since he just go traded My Lineup is: PG - Arenas / Blake / Dixon SG - Hughes / Hayes / Dixon SF - Jamison / Jared Jefferies PF - Kwame / Etan / Jefferies C - Haywood / Etan / John Ramos
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">I realized I can't trade Jamison yet since he just go traded</div> In this game, so far we've been letting it slide. (The CBA is fuzzy on recently-traded players being traded again. The example I always bring up is Sheed who got traded twice, though that was during the season - but that didn't bring up any problems.) I think it's your choice if you want to field offers or not.
Roster Update (after all signings, and trades so far)... Starters... C - Erick Dampier ($10 million) PF - Dennis Rodman ($1.1 million) SF - Ricky Davis ($5.5 million) SG - Kobe Bryant ($16 million) PG - Gary Payton ($5.4 million) Bench... PG - Nick Van Exel ($11.8 million) SG - Jerry Stackhouse ($7 million) PF - Cliff Robinson ($5.3 million) C - Al Jefferson ($1.4 million) SF - Bruce Bowen ($5 million) PF - Luke Walton ($620,046) SF - Rick Fox ($4.9 million) IR... SG - Sasha Vujacic ($705,700) PG - Mateen Cleaves (minimum) I really like what I've done so far...but I'm not done yet. I'm happy with my bench...and I think my starters would work really good together. I'm balanced defensively...and I have two great rebounders in my starting five, and two really explosive players on offense, and a veteran point guard that will do better since we won't be using the triangle offense anymore. I'm only weak on my backup center, but who knows...he's a rookie and he played excellent in high school...he's meant to play the forward, but he's strong enough to play the paint, in my opinion. Three players for each position, except for the center, which has two. Balance is a factor. Sure looks good without Shaq...the way I see things, it looks much more promising.
Whose starting line-up is better? Streetball2k3 or mine? Streetball2k3: PG: Sam Cassel SG: Marquis Daniels SF: Josh Howard PF: Dirk Nowitzki C: Shaquille O'neal or Mine: PG: Stephon Marbury SG: Allan Houston SF: Wally Sczerbiak PF: Shareef Abdul-rahim C: Kurt Thomas
And I could be adding Rashard Lewis and Manu Ginobili to that lineup, take that into consideration aswell .
Okay people we have to use the cap here, I see some teams that signed a few too many guys, Toronto was over the cap to begin with, so all they had was the MLE and LLE, and them minimum contracts. Their's no possible way they could've signed Stephen Jackson, Derek Fisher, Rafer Alston, and I'm guessng Donyell Marshall was traded for someone, Nazr or Kirilenko or something, but it's not working right now. Courtking you need to watch these people's cap, update their cap situation, and how much they have left of their MLE and LLE whenever they ask for a signing.
Exactly, and the Raptors were looking to sign Steve Nash to a multi year dear worth something like 60 million, and I think that is absurd seeing they started over the cap anyways. I think as of now, courtking should look at the teams salary before letting people get signed right and left. SO, you are lucky if you've signed who you wanted and are over the cap already, because I don't think we will take players off your team, but from now on the cap should be in place. Good thing i've traded and only signed 1 person over the exception .

Kurt Thomas isn't that great of a center compared to Shaq...and how well can Shareef adjust to playing alongside players that are either better or equal in talent? Oh well...but there are a couple of second year players who may not get any better than they are right now in the Mavs lineup. You can't tell how good they'll be unless they can keep providing for more than one year...and how well can they work with Shaq? That's always a question. Also a question...how good are your role players?
I already checked my cap room, and had Zhone give me a second opinion...I've pretty much signed players to minimums except for Kobe and Bowen. I'm in the clear
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Streetball2k3:</div><div class="quote_post">Add Lewis and Ginobili to the lineup instead of howard+daniels. Now which team is better?</div> Then it'd be the Mavs, but how do you expect to get those two? I'll be shocked if you're able to keep Howard and Daniels.
I've basically signed Ginobili, seeing the Spurs GM hasn't been online yet, and I've offered this deal to the Sonics GM. Dallas trades: Tariq Abdul-Wahad ( ppg, rpg, apg in minutes) SF Josh Howard (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 23.7 minutes) SG Marquis Daniels (8.5 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.1 apg in 18.5 minutes) Dallas receives: SF Rashard Lewis (17.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.6 minutes) Change in team outlook: +0.7 ppg, -1.6 rpg, and -1.4 apg. Seattle trades: SF Rashard Lewis (17.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.6 minutes) Seattle receives: Tariq Abdul-Wahad ( ppg, rpg, apg in games) SF Josh Howard (8.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg in 67 games) SG Marquis Daniels (8.5 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.1 apg in 56 games) Change in team outlook: -0.7 ppg, +1.6 rpg, and +1.4 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Dallas and Seattle being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Dallas and Seattle had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Good eye, og. So far I've checked 3 or 4 teams. It takes me like 20 minutes a team if they've done a bunch of trades. I'll check the Raptors now, chronologically to see if there's any red flags. 1) Raptors sign F Stephen Jackson to a 6 year 48$

Good eye, og15. It takes me a while to review a roster, usually people rely on realGM for trades which is close enough, but there's nothing for signings. Let me review the Toronto Rapters roster: Vince Carter $13 mil Jalen Rose $13 mil Alvin Williams $6 mil Donyell Marshall $5 mil Chris Bosh $2.3 mil Rafael Araujo $1.7 mil Jerome Moiso minimum Total: $41 mil Cap space: about $4 mil Exceptions: MLE and Million 1) Signing Rafer Alston for 5 years, $21 million w/6th year option (1st year salary: $4 million) > This first deal Toronto makes fits under the cap, I think. Even if not, we can be a little nice. Eh? Current cap space: $0 Both exceptions available 2) Traded Marshall ($5 mil) and Williams ($6 mil) for Kirilenko ($1 mil) and Lopez ($1 mil) > This trade works under the CBA. Utah is under the cap and can absorb salaries. Amazing deal by Tor to get Kirilenko and also get cap space. I wish I was up when Utah was offering Kirilenko. Current cap space: $9 mil Both exceptions available 3) Signing Stephen Jackson for 6 years, $48 million (1st year salary: $7 mil) > With the cap space from the trade, it works. Current cap space: $2 mil Both exceptions available. 4) Signing Peterson for 4 years, $24 million (assuming starting at $5.5 mil) > Should fall under Bird exception, so this signing is ok. Technically doesn't have to use any exceptions, I think. Current cap space: negative Both exceptions available 5) Signing Derek Fisher for 4 years, $20 million (assuming start at $4.5 mil) > Falls under the MLE, which we said was worth $5.5. Only Million $ exception available. 6) Signing waived Derrick Coleman for 3 years, 8 million (assuming start at bout $2.3 million) > This is tricky because waived players don't work like this exactly. Doesn't quite fit into either exceptions left... hmm. If we were nice we could say his million dollar exception was full. Conclusion: Technically, it fits because he made that crazy deal, unless you disagree with me about the Alston signing. Essentially, he was a lucky/smart because he found someone with cap space who was willing to absorb it.
