    ...as far as I know the only current cumbersome contract Cashman was not responsible for is ARod's.

    But he was responsible (I believe) for extending the contract after he opted out.

    ...you mean in 2007?...that was Hank's doing. The original opt out was from the Rangers' deal...but Hank got drunk, smoked a joint, and got on the phone with ARod and gave him 10 more years and another opt out clause.

    ...Cashman did however, give CC an extension even though CC never actually opted out...CC bluffed Cashman and won.
