Wow, some things really do go right over some people's heads.

Okay, let's waste more time with the usual song and dance generated by you're misinterpretation or failure to actually understand my post(s).
I don't know if it's intentional or not, I'm beginning to lean towards the former.
    Re: my above post.

I wasn't asking credit for MYSELF, if you actually read it I was referring to being ABLE to both criticize and give credit, where it is due....and both of us know this was concerning Cashman and directed at me as I originally and clearly listed your innuendo --> "pointing out this team's shortcomings is verboten"

Stop being coy, you're the one who seems to be muddying the water in this current dialogue. It's no secret I am the lone poster here who has had the longest leash with Cashman and HAVE in fact already said I gave Cashman a pass the past two years (with reasons/opinion) and he should be fired if the 2016 team doesn't improve on last year's performance.
There it is- I'm not trying to hide anything, no problemo.
Want to disagree or laugh at me for giving Cashman "a pass" the past two years, that's fine, but I am not flip flopping on this issue as I ALSO said (unlike some other people), I am quite capable and willing to offer criticism and don't mind giving credit where it is due (Cashman). In case you can't grasp it, this means openly agreeing or disagreeing with a particular move or trade made by the GM.....and I mentioned "presidential campaigns" to indicate the range of my personal ability to agree or disagree with "someone".....and judging from what I've read in other political threads (as well as Yankee threads), there are "some people" who evidently disagree with a GM or Prez Candidate on 100% of issues, policies, comments or trades...lol

Fine and dandy....no reason to suspect impaired judgement due to prejudice...none whatsoever....!

...sorry to disappoint, but I'm neither complaining nor did I get "whalloped"...but if believing that helps you to sleep better I'm glad.

I really don't want to get into having to consider locking threads but the bickering is getting very silly at this point. It's really just arguing about level of suckage and level of blame at this point. My brother and I had a long discussion about the Yankees this weekend. If it was me I'd blow everybody out of here which includes both Cashman and Girardi. Girardi is a good manager in my opinion and would easily get a job elsewhere. I just think this team is going to have to start anew. He's the last holdover from a dynasty mindset that needs to be moved on from. As for Cashman he cannot be allowed to escape responsibility for the current state of this roster and a very weak farm system. Scapegoating just Girardi which is the likely scenario should be completely rejected by Yankee fans.

^^^pretty much. There has to be accountability and Cashman is the GM, period. He's exhibited that without a blank checkbook he cannot construct a championship caliber team and/or a team we can be proud of. I don't see this franchise returning to glory anytime soon.

...this roster has been flawed for multiple years now...and this team has no soul. And I've been saying "blow it up" for awhile now...be "sellers" at the trade deadline.

...Mess, ask yourself, whenever someone mentions the Yankees, what current player do you immediately think of?...personally, I struggle with coming up with a name...and sadly, that tells me all I need to know.

I don't come up with anyone and that's what's sad. Once Jeter left that was it. There's simply no identity anymore and the leadership void after Jeter's departure has been huge. That's what happens though when your organization stops producing home grown talent. It also makes it very easy to be very apathetic when it comes to this franchise right now.

...hell. even during the lean years of poor teams there were "home grown" players I could follow and pull for...seems like all we have now is a bunch of mercenaries.

...and for me, it's simply hard to connect with them. Only reason for me to go to the park now is for Old Timers Day.

On one hand some of this is the result of all those years of making the playoffs. On the other hand some is the result of waiting and waiting before pushing the reset button.

...Though maybe having the #1 draft pick is nice, there are many many late round draft picks who excelled...Mattingly was one of them...Smoltz, Pettitte, and Pujols too,...regardless of their draft position the Yanx have simply not groomed and cultivated the picks they have made over the last 20 years or so...I mean since Jeter and the core 4 Cano is the only farm hand/future star that comes to mind.

...either people doing the drafting/scouting are picking the wrong players or the farm system itself leaves a lot to be desired...Cashman is also responsible for overseeing this.
