The game will be broadcast live on TVA Sports and will also be available on illico Mobile. “The guys feel confident based on how we played last game,” said Impact head coach Jesse Marsch. “There is a belief and understanding within the group that it’s coming together. Led by a hat trick from Thierry Henry – his first with the team – the Red Bulls won their second game of the season while keeping the Montreal Impact winless with a 5-2 victory in front of a crowd of 13,415 on a nippy afternoon. The Impact began the game well, imposing their will in the midfield and creating chances through Sanna Nyassi against a Red Bulls team that did not look sharp. That pressure paid off when Montreal opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Dane Richards attempted to clear the ball but barely got a touch, resulting in a bouncing ball that got away from Markus Holgersson. And just like the first team, the Academy is looking to take advantage of a long preseason in order to ensure the players’ continued development and a true understanding of the system the coaching staff is looking to implement. “The CSL season is a tool to help develop these young players, but it’s not the only one,” said the Director of the Academy Philippe Eullaffroy. “The league lasts only seven months of the year, but we work 11.5 months with these young players. The quality of the opposition is important, but the quantity is primordial. Therefore, we can’t just leave the U21s for five months without training or matches.
