Re: MONTREAL IMPACT (Impact de Montréal FC) See You Next Year Canadian rivals Toronto, Montreal draw 0-0 in 2012 BMO finale It’s been that kind of year at BMO Field. Toronto FC closed out their 2012 home campaign on Saturday afternoon with a 0-0 draw against rivals Montreal Impact, who were making their first-ever visit to Toronto in MLS regular season play. Goalkeeper Freddy Hall helped TFC hold on to their first league shutout since July 14 with a couple of key stops during a hectic series of stoppage time assaults on the Toronto goal. TFC were also helped by a lack of sharpness from Montreal’s attackers, a common theme that afflicted both sides in the scoreless match. While Toronto’s winless run reaches 13 matches, the expansion Impact moved closer to registering the best record by a Canadian team in MLS this year, which would give them the No. 1 seed in next year’s Canadian Championship. Despite their current five-game winless run, the Impact’s 42 points are on par with Vancouver, who are still battling for a playoff spot in the West. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ronto-hold-rival-montreal-0-0-draw-bmo-finale
Re: MONTREAL IMPACT (Impact de Montréal FC) Season finale a likely swan song for Impact hero Sebrango MONTREAL – Chances are there will be very few dry eyes among longtime Impact supporters when the curtain is drawn on the 2012 season this weekend. Of course Montreal will be back for another season in 2013, but the same may well not be said for a player the fans have loved since 2002, even during his stint with the Vancouver Whitecaps: striker Eduardo Sebrango. The former Cuban international (above, left), who scored 51 goals in seven seasons with Montreal before the club made the jump to MLS, turned 39 years old this spring. It therefore came to no surprise when he told local station TVA Sports two months ago that this was probably his last professional season (watch it here: http://tvasports.ca/video/sebrango-songe-à-la-retraite/1791407175001). http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/10/24/season-finale-likely-swan-song-impact-hero-sebrango

Re: MONTREAL IMPACT (Impact de Montréal FC) Jesse Marsch and Montreal Impact part ways The Montreal Impact and manager Jesse Marsch announced on Saturday morning that they have parted ways. "I'm leaving the club by mutual agreement," Marsch announced during a press conference alongside owner Joey Saputo and sporting director Nick de Santis. "It's not easy with the relationships that we've built, but for me it's the right decision. "Although we have the same goals, we did not share the same philosophy," continued Marsch. And his comments were echoed by Saputo. "This is an amicable parting of ways, for the better of the club," Saputo said. "While we had the same long-term objective for this organization, we realized we did not share the same view on how to get there." http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/11/03/breaking-jesse-marsch-parts-ways-montreal-impact

Re: MONTREAL IMPACT (Impact de Montréal FC) Reports from Italy that Andrea Pisanu is on his way to Canada: Trial was Successful? Reports from Italy are that one of the prospects the Impact tried out in Italy, 30 year old Andrea Pisanu, will join the team. According to a Sky Sports Italy reporter: "Pisanu ready to fly to Canada" Described as "highly skilled but injury prone" he's the type of guy that could be an amazing pickup(a la Filipe) or a talented waste(ie: Rivas) basically on a flip of a coin. Given the over reliance we have on Filipe(the transition without him is basically nonexistent) another talented offensive midfielder will be useful, especially if it reduces the playing time of Mapp, who has a questionable fitness level, and Arnault who works hard but lacks the talent to get the ball to Di Vaio when it counts. http://www.mountroyalsoccer.com/201...t-andrea-pisanu-is-on-his-way-to-canada-trial
