<div class="quote_poster">Quoting hoops4life:</div><div class="quote_post">also, i dont like yao too much.</div> Yeah, Yao's a real jerk. Works hard in practice. Plays hurt. Always puts the team ahead of himself. All those charities he's involved in. I don't see how anyone can stand him.
The most hated would be Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest. Kobe Bryant generates a lot of haters, but you can't deny that he's a great player with a lot on his resume. Ron Artest is just one of those bad guys everybody hates because of him causing fights, technical fouls, and of course the brawl in palace hills. Those two are the most hated.
I think Kobe is hated (on message noards) because some of his fans really do act like he's God and can do no wrong, which in turn pisses off other non-Kobe fans and incline them to not like him even more. Frankly, without naming any names (cause I don't remmber their names in actuality), there are those types of posters on JBB as well. I also don't like uneducated fans who are like 11 and try to debate against older posters about Kobe when the older posterr is right and backs up his arguements with solid proof and facts while the younger psoters tend to defend themselves by a bunch of expletives and "ur so stupid" comments. That happens quite frequently actually. The NBA does not "love" Kobe Bryant, but they know he has just as much fans as he does haters so it evens out for them. I don't think Ron Artest is hated all that much...maybe just by Detriot and Indiana fans. I think 2 players that is hated, in terms of from people I talk to in real life are Alonzo Mourning and Karl Malone.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe fanboys would have you believe that it's Kobe Bryant, but I don't buy it. I mean there's just so many of them. I personally think it is Carlos Boozer. Except for Jazz fans, I don't know anybody who does like him.</div> Why does everyone hate Boozer? I don't give a rats ass about Utah, so that is probably why I don't know. And you are totally right about the Kobe thing. Me and all my friends love Kobe. The haters out their are most likely Nets/Philly fans. Yao is always hated on. "What a waste of height" bla bla bla. The kids been through a lot in his life and has dealt with a lot of pressure. If people don't like that about him than that is there problem. People tend to hate on Gary Payton, Zo', Shaq, and T-Mac. I personally have strong dislikes for Nowitzki, and Josh Howard.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting igotask8board:</div><div class="quote_post">Why does everyone hate Boozer?</div> Cuz he skrewed the cavs. plus he went to duke.
The thing about Kobe is that most of the hate he gets is from the media. But that's only a small number of people, when you think about it. It's just that those commentators have got a much bigger audience, so their opinions are heard more often. I still think Kobe has more fans than haters. And Junoon is spot on. Most people are not Kobe haters, but Kobe fan haters.
yea kobe is loved by everyone now i say most hated are vince, 'zo, starbury, sheed, bruce bowen, and ron artest
Tim Thomas, Jerome James, and Stephon Marbury seem to come to mind when it comes to people that are "hated".
Kobe Bryant, and Steve Nash is also hated, everybody say that HE stealed the MVP. Did NASH chose that HE is the MVP, No. So why do people hate him when he hasnt done anything. Dont need to explain Kobes thing, everybody have explained it.
I think more and more ppl are starting to like Kobe cuz hes an underdog kinda without shaq and all these ppl hating on him.
The only player I can think of is Darius Miles. Never wants to play to his full potential and only plays for the money. Wasn`t he arrested too for weed a couple years back?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting antonyo09:</div><div class="quote_post">Cuz he skrewed the cavs. plus he went to duke.</div> What the hell. Are you talking about how the Cavaliers tried to screw him over? They offered him next to nothing for what he brings to the table. Jazz gave him a real offer and he took it. I don't care if they had a verbal agreement. They were trying to shortchange him. If thats why then any Cavs fan, or anyone who hates him because of this is a complete moron. and wtf is wrong w/ Duke? Shane, Sheldon, Boozer, Elton Brand, and Grant Hill all went to Duke. They are all hardworking successful NBA players. Im going to take a guess and say a lot of busts came from Duke University.

As he was signed as a 2nd round pick, he would have been severely underpaid. So he expressed his frustration with the owner (I think) and said that, if they declined the option and offered him a fair contract, he would accept it for sure. They did that and then he signed for way more with Utah. I still think it's the Cavs fault for being so stupid, but I can see how people despise how he reneged on a verbal agreement.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair15:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao also. If thats why then any Cavs fan, or anyone who hates him because of this is a complete moron. </div> why would you verbally agree to something if you thought you were getting "short changed"? here is what really happend...he was a restricted free agent, and the cavs could have exercised a team option which would have been a short change, but told him that if he would agree to X contract, then they would decline the option, making him a restricted free agent, and then sign him to a contract that was equal to his value... he agreed to do that...and then went and signed with utah. in the spirit of good faith, the cavs decided to decline the option that would pay him significantly less, just to give him a bigger contract...he agreed to that, and then stabbed them in the back and signed for more money. its pure greed and nothing else, and if i was a cleveland fan, id feel betrayed and pretty angry as well. when athletes start going back on their words for more money, it rubs people the wrong way. especially considering they are already playing for an absurd amount of money
