Exactly what Premium said. Why the hell does he lead in votes? Also the only people who you think is a yao hater is hoops4life. Durvasa was OBVIOUSLY being sarcastic.

i know a lot of people that hate yao. Even though he gets votes in the ASG, people still hate him, yeah he is real famous, but some peopl hate him. When the comparison of yao and shaq comes, everyone that likes shaq is like yao is a whimp and stuff. Heck, I know some people personally (not here, my friends and relative's) that think Yao is weak and he suck. That is why I asked if anyone think Yao's hated. I personally like Yao a lot, and think he's great, but I was just asking to see if someone here thought Yao sucked. Because I know some people think that.

Shaq - face it a lot of people hate Shaq. They hate that he relies on his size, and his cheesy album and movie career. not to mention his monstrous ego.

Kobe - on this board but other than that not that much that I have seen.

    Karl Malone - hated......

I heard this guy say "I HATE Jerry Stackhouse" in a bar one time. so i got to add J-Stack to the list.

    Robert Horry - in Sacramento

Derek Fisher - in San Antonio

The Kobe fans make me dislike Kobe, not Kobe himself. But I'm not really into it, I'm neither a fan or a hater of Kobe. It just irritates me when some people say, Kobe is better then Jordan, and **** like that.

^ The reason why Yao is one of the top voters is probably because theres a whole country voting for him?

That is very true Rock4Life. Why should you hate Kobe? Is it because he is one of if not the best scorer in the game? I personally can't stand Rasheed Wallace and everybody hates Ron Artest.

I personally don't hate Kobe, I jus envy his skills because he's so hard to beat. Thats probably why everyone "hates" him. If I had to choose one player to hate it would probably be Stephon Marbury. He has no respect for a great coach like Larry Brown and thinks that every game is a 1 on 1 showdown. He thinks hes still on the playgrounds of New York.

It's very possible to hate Kobe fans and not Kobe. During that 1st round series between the Suns and Lakers, for example, I think a lot of JBB posters began to dislike Kobe simply because of their experiences in the Lakers forum.

People hate Kobe's fan but ever thought of kobe's fan hate them too? I mean if Kobe did something good, they don't remember. But when Kobe makes a mistake, it was like "Holy smoke!". They kept calling Kobe ballhog, and when Kobe proved he's not, they don't accept it. People hate Kobe either because they jealous of Kobe or they hate him emotionally for what he did outside of basketball.

Either you're completely wrong or I'm the exception to that rule, because neither of those two apply to me. I can sit down and appreciate how good a basketball player he is (eg: I didn't hate when he dropped 81 points on my favourite team), and I have enough sense to seperate his off the court life with his basketball skill. I can honestly say that Kobe/Laker fans made me dislike Kobe to a certain extent. If you don't post a mindlessly obvious and optimistic post then you get hounded. And a conversation with Kobe fans is most likely to degenerate into name calling and insults. I also find it annoying how Lakers/Kobe fans have this "me against the world/underdog" persona, when (1) they get the most media coverage and (2) almost everybody wants them to succeed.

I know I'm generalizing here, though. There are lots of Lakers/Kobe fans that are among the most intelligent on this site. But, they're also balanced out by too many annoying and unintelligent fans.

I really don't hate him. I don't like him, but I still respect the guy. It's just some of his fans on this forum are really hard to deal with. Many act like 8 year-olds, and act like the man is a god. They resort to personal attacks when they're beaten in a debate, and their rebuttles consist of unsupported, bias opinion such as "Kobe's team sucked" or "he just is the most clutch, I don't care what the numbers say". What really ticked me off though was when people started comparing him to Jesus. Again, I think Kobe is a great player, and many of the Kobe fans are great posters, and don't exhibit the attributes listed above. But there are some fanboys on this forum who leave a bad taste in the mouths of us neutral fans.

BTW, he easily has the most fans on this site, so I fail to see how he is "hated."

This is sad. If you hate a player because of something the player has absolutely no control over you are a retard. Period.

why would you verbally agree to something if you thought you were getting "short changed"?

here is what really happend...he was a restricted free agent, and the cavs could have exercised a team option which would have been a short change, but told him that if he would agree to X contract, then they would decline the option, making him a restricted free agent, and then sign him to a contract that was equal to his value...

he agreed to do that...and then went and signed with utah. in the spirit of good faith, the cavs decided to decline the option that would pay him significantly less, just to give him a bigger contract...he agreed to that, and then stabbed them in the back and signed for more money. its pure greed and nothing else, and if i was a cleveland fan, id feel betrayed and pretty angry as well.

when athletes start going back on their words for more money, it rubs people the wrong way. especially considering they are already playing for an absurd amount of money</div>

    Wow, what a D**KHEAD!

Danny "Cheap shot" Ferry that guy played so dirty ever since his days at duke to when he suckered elbowed marcus camby. Just looking at his bald headed face would make me cringe... glad he's retired.
