<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ludacris06:</div><div class="quote_post">Well that explains how bad Vince's defense is. He said it himself. He knows what he can and cannot do, but he doesnt care about averaging points or whatever as long as he is helping the team. Thats what the whole Piston roster contains, team players. Lets just say, Portland doesnt contain "Team players".</div> Rasheed Wallace being the ultimate team player?!?! Do you even remeber when he threw that towel in Sabonis' face? Of course you don't because you have probably just jumped on the Rasheed bandwagon after he joined the Pistons. You can keep living in your dream world and I'll just wait until he cracks one day (as he has done many times before) and gets himself ejected, suspended or even arrested for smoking up.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Eclipse:</div><div class="quote_post">You can keep living in your dream world and I'll just wait until he cracks one day (as he has done many times before) and gets himself ejected, suspended or even arrested for smoking up.</div> Yo Rasheed stopped doing that stuff(at least for now) once he landed in Detroit. He loves it there. Stop hatin man. Rasheed is a great player. How can you say someone is overrated when theyre the missing piece to a championship? Stop hatin dude.
I'm not hating, I'm being realistic. The Blazers used to be one of my favourite teams and I watched all their games so I know what Rasheed is really like. I just don't get peolple who change thier opinion of him just because of 22 games of his whole career. To say that he is the "ultimate team player" (as Ludacis said) after he has behaved himself for 22 games is just plain ignorant. You can't make that kind of a judgement after such a short time. Winning a championship does not change what type of a player he has been his whole career.

He also helped the Pistons for more than 22 games and the Playoffs is where it really counts. Ya I agree with you that whoever said Rasheeed is the ultimate team player is retarded. Now Stockton? He was the ultimate team player. Sheed isnt even close. His 1.8 APG isnt that impressive to me.
I wouldn't exactly call throwing a towel in a teammates face, getting ejected many times and getting arrested and embarassing your team and organization, being a team player. Calling him "the ultimate team player" just tells me that he has never watched any of the games while he was in Portland and that he's just jumping on the bandwagon after he joined the Pistons. If Rasheed can keep himself out of trouble and contain himself on the court for an extended period of time (like 4-5 years), then maybe I will change my opinion of him but until then, nothing has changed.

T-Mac against Pistons on Feb 22nd (After Rasheed): 19pts, 5 turnovers, and 3 for 20 FG's Pierce against Pacers in playoffs: 20ppg and 34% shooting (36 for 105). Anyone can pick and choose specific stats to make it skewed to what you want people to believe. If you're going to post something like that, show the whole picture and not just one game T-Mac played against the Pistons or Pierce against the Pacers in the playoffs. What happened to the stats for T-Mac against the Pistons or the Pacers for the whole season or Pierce against the Pistons or Pacers for the season? I can just pick and choose a couple of stats to prove my point too.
Pierce stats never really changed against Indiana, and why post other games when he was shut down 4 games in a row? Pierce only played Detroit before they got Rasheed, and their defense really sucked before then. I only wanted to post T-Mac's game against Detroit after Rasheed arrived because thats when thier defense was at their best and I did say the league's best defenses right? The Spurs basicly owned everyone from start to finish. T-Mac did actually light up the Pacers, but only played them twice this season due to injury. I'll give you that one.
^ You didn't post the other stats because it didn't prove your case so you just chose a couple to make your argument. And how can you say Detroit's defense sucked w/o Rasheed? They had one of the best defensive teams in the league already before Rasheed was there.
Look at how many points they allowed. Look at how many players attacked the basket when Ben Wallace was off the court. Defensive intimidation is everything. Basketball is more mental than physical. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You didn't post the other stats because it didn't prove your case so you just chose a couple to make your argument.</div> Who has better defense than San Antonio and Detroit? Nobody.
Actually Tmac did pretty good agaisnt the Pacers, he averged 32 points, 3 rebounds, and 7.5 assits, and shot 47.8% from the field. Also during the season, Pierce didn't do bad agaisnt the Pacers, he averaged less points, but his FG% was 44.6, and he shot 38.1% from long range. ....I understand why he put after Rasheed came, before Rasheed, the Pistons were a good defensive team but didn't have as good rotation and shot blocking in the paint because Campbell is old, and Okur is not anything much defensively. With Rasheed the defense changed as it would have with them adding any athletic defender/shot blocker in the paint, and their defense was very good. I used this to show that Tayshaun really benefited from having both Wallace's, because before Rasheed came, players would always easily beat him off the dribble, but with Rasheed and Ben, players were more reluctant to drive, and would try to force shots over Tayshaun's length. An example is Vince, before Rasheed was on the Pistons, he easily beat Tayshaun off the dribble and killed him, he shot 45.9% against the Pistons, but with Rasheed he started reclining more to jumpers, and shot 28.6% against the Pistons when Ben and Rasheed were there.

OG15 is telling u the truth! And what also doesnt tell in the stat sheet is how makes his teammates better. Donyell Marshall sucked his whole career...averagin 10 ppg when he came to t.o., 18 ppg...because of who Vince Carter he makes his team better. Michael Cury and Milt Palacio are not supposed to be the rotation, but vince carter makes them better by gettin them open shots and by trusting them...the only players that come to my mind that make their team better is Shaquille O'Neal and Tim Duncan..Maybe Kevin Garnett! switch Kobe for vince carter and the lakers would have won the championship last year!!! "Coach John Wooden told me once, being a great player is how much points you score, it how you make yourself as well as your teammates better!" - Shaquille O'Neal.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> switch Kobe for vince carter and the lakers would have won the championship last year!!! </div> bold statement, i highly doubt that <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> ...the only players that come to my mind that make their team better is Shaquille O'Neal and Tim Duncan..Maybe Kevin Garnett! </div> Jason kidd? Would a player that weighs more than everyone else, with depleted skils, that obviously has the unfair advantage be called overrated in terms of being great?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">bold statement, i highly doubt that</div> Me too, maybe switch Kobe for Carter in their first and second championship, then yes they could likely have still won, but that pertains to most of the elite SG's in the league too. Right now (post injury) Carter hasn't done anything to give him an special status, no less than Pierce, Tmac or Allen, but till we see it, he's not the same player he was, he's a little lesser. I'll give him that he has improved in some other areas though, like his passing, and the Raptors style of play last year didn't help too many people on the team, but if he still produces the same the year we can settle that he's no better than Ray Allen.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Oneinpower:</div><div class="quote_post">Hey i Recorded games 3,4 and 5 and it clearly shows Payton holding parkers shirt, kobe slapping at his hand not the ball and Karl using his shoulder to push parker. but while you are talking about choking what about the Lakers that includes Kobe.</div> look you can make excuses its okay :thumbsdow i mean look, the game is rough its not for a bunch of p*ssy fairies running around not expecting to get pushed or shoved its gonna happen, the refs call it when they see it and it goes both ways also about the lakers choking ya your right nobody came to play in the series because they underestimated the pistons and also pistons came ready to play simple as that
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting spawn:</div><div class="quote_post">bold statement, i highly doubt that Jason kidd? And KG maybe makes his team better because of the talent they have. they have 4 allstars and struggled with the Kings! Who's on the spurs...tony parker, ginobili, nesterovich, turkolu...nesteraavich suked in MINNESOTA and came to san antonio and averaged a double-double, turkalu was 15 min. per game at sacramento came to san antoinio hes a starter. Tim Duncan makes all these players better....KG has way way way wayyyyyyyyyy more talent than the spurs but the spurs are still better. thats y i say maybe!!!
