Rush suffers a little because they kind of lost their creative edge after the mid '80s. But they had a string of 7 or 8 albums in a row over a decade that were amazingly unique and creative - 2112, Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, Hemispheres, Farewell to Kings etc., and they aren't really rated with the GOAT like the stones or metallica etc. Pretty hard to make a case for them being most overrated even if they're not you're favorite.

I don't care for most Floyd, but what they did was so special and creative that i would never consider them for most overrated.

I actually like him, but I think he's "rated" about right.

Amazing concept! Yes, yes I did. Did this movie effectively put Norton on the proverbial map? He was amazing.

I think American history x did that. I can't remember which movie came first.

BEP is a tough one. Sure, they're popular. Very VERY popular. But who actually rates them (aside from 12 year old girls). It's like saying the latest transformers movie (#2 last year) is overrated.

They peaked with Joints and Jams.

Saw him in concert a few years ago at Philips Arena (free suite tix). Gotta say, his performance was amazing......particularly for a man approaching 70! HUGE energy exuded by that man!

that is a valid point. It's hard to take seriously groups that make a lot of their money off of young pre-teens and young teens. They're (stereotypically) easily swayed and their ability to judge talent isn't really formed yet. When a 12 year old tells me that Josh Bieber is the most talented singer ever, I take it with a grain of salt.

I think Julius kind of hit it on the head for me. They don't get a lot of fanfare, but their fans are pretty intense about how good Rush is and they can't understand why I think they are average. So, yes they don't qualify as overrated, but their fans think they are gods and can't fathom why all rock fans don't worship them.

Don't want this thread to go off, but that movie was another classic. I can watch it over and over again.

Not a big rush fan; but I definitely wouldn't consider them over rated.

Dave Matthews Band -- A band that everyone seems to like, but I don't really get the appeal.

I actually don't like them at all. Very talented; but I think they are way too complex. Kinda like showboating or something. I can't put my finger on it. There is one song I like, can't remember, but it was slow. Other than that; everything else is hard for me to listen to.
