Don't you think it's weird that he is just up I-5 but he never visits Portland?

Roy has the feeling of someone who never got over a bad breakup...... and that breakup was with his career. It's almost like the ghost of Roy's career haunts the Rose Garden, and he's afraid to come back and face it.

He just seems like your typical Seattle person that has disdained Portland for some reason or another and played here begrudgingly.

I can understand why he's hesitant to make a return here. Both in the sense that he probably has a boner for all things Seattle, but also there probably is a bit of guilt about how he cost Paul Allen extra money because he refused to accept that he needed to retire (in addition to just the whole way things ended here probably not being how he had envisioned. That's always a bitter pill to swallow).

He'd arguably receive one of the largest and longest ovations from Portland fans, for any former player returning (Sabonis being another).

I don't think his # should be retired, but maybe they should have a "thank you Brandon Roy" night or something instead.

Are people really giving Roy shit for liking Seattle more than Portland? He grew up there, it's always going to be home, just like Oakland will always be Dames home.

What do people want him to do? Actively make public appearances when his career is already over? His split wasn't particularly great. It will probably be another few years before they should do a joint appearance.

I'm not critical of him liking Seattle more than Portland, I like Portland more than Seattle. I was just suggesting possible reasons. (I don't know if you were referencing my post or not)

Assume you're talking about the 2000 series.

    2003 series.
3 players didn't come to play in game 7.

Good call. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one around here who is sick of the constant Danny Young love in this forum. Oh sure, he was a good player, but all this talk of retiring his jersey and complaining that he's not in the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame just gets old after a while.

Batum was the most overrated Blazer in the history of the organization.
If only simply due to the hype he received from Mike & Mike, the previous forum, and the organization.
Sad thing is, most of these people were right to hype Batum.(well within reason)
But for all the talent he had, he certainly did not live up to the hype.

I won't name names, but there are people who are currently members of s2 who wouldn't have traded Batum for Kawhi.

    At least in recent memory...

I don't know if he was overrated in his time here, or even overrated now. But he was overrated coming into Portland due to the fact that he did nothing for the team, and many were expecting him to be a big difference maker.

    Talking about Jamal Crawford.

Even if he stayed healthy, I could have seen him pulling a KD/LaMarcus at the end of his big contract. I mean I loved him when he was here, but there was always something a little off with the way he carried himself. Hard to sayhow exactly just a gut feeling.
