Will anyone ever explain what this "hype" exactly is and where they are getting it from? What does the kid have to do? 20, 6, and 6 for a kid out of high school? We have not seen stuff like that from any rookie since Magic and Larry. I just think people are jealous and tired of hearing about him, that is why they knock him. That is about as stupid as saying that KG gets paid too much.
Overpaid: Wow, so many...Shandon Anderson, Tom Gugliotta, Vin Baker, Eddie Jones, Brian Grant, Damon Stoudamire, Dale Davis, Rasheed Wallace, Vitali Potapenko, Calvin Booth, Jerome James, Mo Taylor, Moochie Norris, Eddie Robinson, Theo Ratliff, Alan Henderson, Antonio Davis, Bob Sure...I could go on forever. Overrated: Baron Davis(Come on, he has quite possibly the worst shot selection in the league, as evidenced by his stellar 38% FG Percentage and his almost 10 3 Pointers jacked up per game.) Corliss Williamson is also very overrated. He's a blackhole, and can't play a lick of Defense. Underrated: Using NBA.com's efficiency formula,((PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK) - ((FGA - FGM) + (FTA - FTM) + TO)) / G, Antonio Daniels currently ranks 37th in the entire NBA in Efficiency Rating Per 48 Minutes. I found this very interesting, considering some of the notable point guards he's ahead of. Among point guards, only Jason Kidd, Sam Cassell and Andre Miller are ranked higher than Daniels. This puts Daniels ahead of guys like Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Gary Payton, Mike Bibby, Steve Nash, Baron Davis and Chauncey Billups(just to name a few). Daniels also ranks first in the league in Assist/Turnover ratio. Also, Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Say what you want about how bad all the teams his been on are, but come on, you can't blame him, he's done his job. He's not a superstar, but he goes out there and does his job.

Anybody saying Kobe is overrated or Shaq is overpaid is just ridiculous.
just a note..I don't think Jalen is underrated at all. If anything he's overrated anymore. His game his digressed since college and his consistency is all but gone..I love Jalen but I would place him squarely in the overrated bin. Horrible,horrible shot selection and horribly inconsistent. In college people made some comparisons to him being like Magic,sadly that comparison is null since his time in the NBA.

Overrated- Allen Iverson one of the worst shooters in the NBA - Darius Miles not even going to get into this one - Ricky Davis wow he can jump high but he cant do much else Underrated- AK-47- He gets no love but is one of the best all around players in the league - Sam Cassel one of the best point guards in the league and he is 32 - Boozer is one of the best up and coming players and gets no love - LeBron James yea I said it underrated LeBron James he has already surpassed the hype and has left critics speechless

underated- i got to say malik rose, he works so hard and is really agressive when it comes to his game, also that facial he gave matumbo in the playoffs was a classic. Overrated- Lebron James, they say he suppoesed to be the next jordan but i just dont see that happening. Overpaid- has to be shaq,he supposed to be the toughest player in the league yet he sits out on a toe injury
There are so many for each catigory, but I'll pick the player I think MOST relates to the catigory. UNDERRATED = Andre Miller (granted his numbers are down in Denver, but they play a team game, so he won't get great numbers. He's still a great point guard, I think in a few years BEST PG is either him or Baron) OVERRATED = Jason Kidd, hands down! All this MVP talk for a guy who can't shoot and turns it over way too much. He has this good guy image, this from a guy who beats his wife, talks trash about players, coaches, and franchises. He got himself traded twice, and got at least 1 coach fired, and flipped off fans who boo'd him (Artest got suspended and fined, Jason Kidd got off w/o even an ESPN anchor saying how bad it was) -- People always think he's the reason the Nets got to the finals, but when Marbury was there they never had a healthy Van Horn, K-Mart was a rookie, Richard Jefferson was at U of A and Byron Scott was with the Kings coaching staff. The other guys deserve some respect... but Kidd is so overrated he gets it all OVERPAID = I agree with everybody else... anybody getting more than $8 mil/year and NOT concidered for the All-Star game.
