I bought the James Bond complete blu ray set and am watching all the old ones for the first time since I was about 8 years old. The Connery ones are all pretty good outside of Thunderball, but the Roger Moore ones outside of the Spy Who Loved Me are just not that great, at least up to Moonraker (which is as far as I've gotten). Speaking of Moonraker, that is a flat out bad movie, not just bad for Bond. In fact, it may be the worst Bond. It's like b movie tier humor and the Star Wars influence is obvious since it was rushed out right after the original Star Wars. The Laser space fight at the end is pretty cringey.

That's actually the one I've seen the most! It's definitely one of their best, I could listen to the soundtrack every day. I never really paid attention to directors/writers until recently, that's why I'm trying to watch their movies I haven't seen.
Concussion wasn't terrible or anything but it was very cliche. Pretty much exactly what you'd expect it to be. I thought Will Smith was good at times but I actually started laughing when he said "TELL DE TROOT" over and over again.
I've avoided it like the plague. No biggie, I'll still see it. My friends ruined the movie Seven years ago by telling me the ending. That's what I got for actually having a date with a girl back then.
I didn't know that....it wasn't that long ago that I figured out how to cut and paste here...give me a few more years and I might learn how to start a poll!
I just watched No Country For Old Men again the other day. I don't think people realize how nuanced and deep the messages in that film are. It's like a beautiful painting that you can look at it for hours and hours and still not completely visually understand. I went to see the Hateful 8 the other day and it works on none of those levels. The dialog and cinematograohy are wonderful but the narrative is stifled by Tarantino's lack of classical dramatic influences. I know Tarantino is well read, but when your trying to convey deep themes on crime and punishment.... read Doestevsky first dude. You know even Scorcese read Henry James when he wasn't making Mean Streets. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
1 22 16 I had recently enjoyed the New Star Wars movie. The acting skills were very good along with a decent script. The robot actors and their cameos are not my favorite but the new rolling ball robot was the best of the bunch. The graphic elements were very well done. All in all I give it 4 of 5 but I ALWAYS prefer Star TREK
>The Coen Brothers always have great writers and scripts. A new movie illustrating their talents is coming featuring George Cloney. I believe it is called Caesar.
To ADD mystery and intrigue to my life I have set my Netflix Q for the entire Breaking Bad series. All fans know you have to start at #1 . The best television series of all time IMO.
Yeah. Those guys should be given special awards for keeping the great American storyline valid. It doesn't matter whether it's in Fargo, LA or West Texas. They find value in telling stories that celebrate who we are and where we are going. It goes back to writers like Mark Twain and Stephen Crane. Hell even Tarantino sees value in our culture, even if it's celluloid culture. You can only sell so many comic book movies, folks. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
