I would make a friendly bet you have never experienced live Jazz music on the streets of New Orleans during the Mardi Gras. Do yourself a big favor, and put it on your bucket list.
I want to see The Gift, Trainwreck, and Antman, but I may wait until 2nd run theaters for them. I'm gonna go see this German flick at Cinema21 this week end:
That Pablo Escobar movie with Benicio Del Torro just came out on Amazon Prime and it was decent. It falls into the same trap that movies like the Last King of Scotland did though, they make up some protagonist that the audience would relate to more when the crazy dictator or drug baron is much more interesting and should be the main focus.
Just saw The Martian. Amazing movie. I loved everything about it. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time.
I want to see Don Cheadle in the new Miles Davis movie, whatever it's called..perfect guy to play him
I'm planning on seeing Sicario this week. The director, Denis Villeneuve, is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites. Prisoners is one of my favorite movies ever, Enemy was a fantastic mindfuck, and I recently watched his French language film, Incedies, which was also great.
I also want to say that I just watched 2001: A Space Odyssey for the first time and was blown away.. How was that movie made in 1968?! I don't know how people compare Interstellar to it.. 2001 is so much better.
I watched Cinderella Man the other day. Made rocky want to look for Bullwinkle. Highly recommend to all.
I watched Beasts of No Nation, the first film released on Netflix (it's also in select theaters so that it can be eligible for Oscars), last night and it was amazing. Extremely well made and just a brutal story.
I saw that and thought it looked interesting. After watching the Blacklist I feel like it has a very Dembe vibe to it. I might check it out.
