I reccomend seeing It. Remakes can fuck shit up sometimes, but they did it right with IT. Has a stranger things vibe. I'm liking it.
I watched Warcraft last night. It was alright, probably wouldn't have liked it very much if I didn't already know the lore of the Warcraft universe.
Also saw Superbad for the first time this week. I'm torn about it - on the one hand there were some genius lines and laugh-out-loud moments, but on the other it's deeply flawed. The whole Cops subplot gets pretty old, and Jonah Hill is just SO obnoxious that the idea of Emma Stone finding him even tolerable is too far out to contemplate. Also the period blood business is just not as funny as they seem to think (and seems frankly gynophobic - which kind of makes sense for "Seth" but not for the adults at the party). Finally, I hope Seth Rogan's wife knows that she may be his sex partner, but she'll never be the love of his life - that's clearly Evan Goldberg.
IT was very stranger things. No character as interesting as Eleven though. Pennywise maybe but he only really has that one (amazing) dialogue scene at the beginning. The Big Sick is likely the best movie of the year. That and "Get Out."
I don't watch movies like Superbad for the plot. I watch them for the sick humor. The whole movie is obnoxious and uncomfortable, thats the point. I can forgive its many flaws, because I'n not thinking about whether it makes sense. It doesn't and to try and philosophize on why is doesn't is just a splitting fucking headache waiting to happen. Just laugh and enjoy.
Got bored and was browsing Hulu with the wife. Came across some crazy ass movies...The Gingerdead man movies and the Killer Bong movies and the crossover Gingerdead man vs Killer Bong....can't make this stuff up. Anyway watched The Gingerdead Man for the hell of it. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Though I must admit if one were high watching it, it would probably be the best movie ever made. Too, post accident Gary Busey as the voice of the gingerdead man is something else.
