Counterfeit Traitor - (1962) Starring William Holden A true story about an American, now a Swedish citizen, in WWII acting as an allied collaborator spying on the Nazis. He's an oil dealer who pretends to work with the Germans in the oil business. Much better movie than expected.
1917!!!!! I saw it yesterday 1/25/20. It is the most unique war movie. The movie was filmed as if you were on the scene with the actors. You will probably see the trailer when a German bi plane approaches the team but what happens afterwards was totally unexpected. Saving Private Ryan and Das Boat are in the unique category of must see war movies and became benchmarks. This movie is an absolute must see. I won't reveal the plot but it is not what you expect.
This has been on cable TV for some time now. I watched it. Tough to sit through. A lot of guys dying. The stupidity of war.
Saw 1917 last night. Excellent, but to me, not the Best Picture. Here's the list: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood The Irishman 1917 Parasite Marriage Story Joker Jojo Rabbit Little Women Knives Out Ford v Ferrari I've seen about half. I say Tarantino's movie was best.
That's where I saw it. Maybe I saw a different one 'cause I can't recall the title but I recall a young man storming a beach in Europe and getting strafed by biplanes. He was lucky to get out alive. There was little dialog but a lot of horrifying action and it was WWI.
Under Sandet. It is a powerful historical drama war film taking place at the end of WWII. German POWs are sent to clear land mines in Denmark.
That sounds a lot like one that I saw under a different name. It had Germans after the war getting killed by clearing mines after WWII I believe in Denmark. Some survived and were promised a better life if they cleared a quota of mines but were denied that after clearing their quotas and were ordered to continue clearing mines. Very tragic movie.
The Peanut Butter Falcon Loved it. A feel good indie movie that doesn't try too hard. Honestly I thought it was perfect for what it was.
