I highly suggest The Alpinist on Netflix. A wild doc about Jean Marc-Leclerc. You've probably never heard of him. It's a pretty crazy story though.

Finally got out to see the latest Scream movie yesterday and throughly enjoyed it. I'm not sure if it's because my expectations have been lowered so much by the last two sequels, but I thought it did a good job of incorporating new characters in with the old and blending the two. All with enough call backs to the original that to me it was a satisfying ending to the franchise. Even though I'm sure a few more of these will be made, I'm perfectly happy with this being the last one I ever see. Solid B- or B kind of movie.

    Well acted.
Made me want to cry several times.

    Good acting, fabulous fictional story.
My God, I thought nothing could move me as much as Sophie's Choice but this movie did, leaving me again on the edge of tears.

    American Underdog!

The Kurt Warner story, to be honest, I didn't think I would enjoy it but god damn, it was really well done. Tons of feels.

    8.5/10

And Then There Were None. Book is good but movies based on it not.
Jean-Paul Sartre wrote a play called No Exit. It's about hell. No fire and brimstone. Just three incompatible people in a room together ... forever.

Death on the Nile starring Kenneth Branaugh as Poiret. Really good! That has to be the first time we went to the movies in 3 years.

What did you think of No Exit, watched it last night and while some of the twists were pretty easy to spot, a couple had me mildly surprised. Also thought they were pretty graphic for a Hulu movie. I'll never watch it again but was a solid 90 minute time waster type of flick.

I felt the beginning was slow and perhaps unnecessary. The being in and breaking out of rehab felt cliched. It could have just started with her driving her own car and exchanging texts to apprise of her mom being in the hospital and her need to go to her.

I knew that it wasn't as easy as being the one introverted dude. I wasn't sure who else was involved.

The game bullshit was my favorite part. When the marine was talking about tells, I was watching closely and could see people had shit to hide.

I expected more than one person was involved.

Something seemed off about the wife and the Marine.

I knew the one sketchy introverted dude was involved from the get go. The other guy I realized was involved as soon as she spilled the beans in the bathroom. I said to myself, she just fucked up.

I question some of her actions, that being one of them. She spilled the beans too soon. She showed her cards before the turn.

During the bullshit game, it was smart to ask them where they came from and where they were going to see who was from Nevada (which was in the vans license plate). She should have brought up, oh that's my car out there...what are you guys driving to get a better idea of who owned the van. (I found it interesting there were extra cars in the parking lot or at least it appeared there was one for each of them, but really at least one was just abandoned there by someone who wasn't there. Would have been interesting if there had been another person that it turned out had discovered their secret and they had killed earlier and dumped in the woods...she could have come across the body when she fell down the hill in the woods to get away from them. Maybe the person could have had a Nevada shirt on...implying they switched plates with the person)

Anyway, also after the guy left the van, I would have asked the girl if he was the only kidnapper because you never know who to trust.

Also use a leafy branch to clear your footprints behind you. If the dude hadn't seen her footprints he would have been none the wiser and she would have been able to buy more time.

The wife being the kids nurse was a good twist...even surprised her husband. They did him dirty by the way. The Marine didn't even get to use his skills. I felt making him a gambling addict was a bit cliched too...I get that they were trying show heroes can be flawed and in reality a marine isn't going to always be able the save the day like John Cena. But, they did him dirty... Just bam dead. I half expected him not to be dead and to come out of nowhere at the end and take the dude out, but nope.

I found it interesting she ended up taking the drugs out of necessity.

She had a chance to kill the dude and she didn't? If someone is trying to kill you and they just nailed your wrist to the fucking wall with a nail gun and you get a chance to kill him, you do it. You shoot the bastard.

I thought at the end her visitor(s) were going to be the little girl and her family there to thank her.

It wasn't a great movie, but it was a fun watch once you get passed the slow beginning.

Just saw The Batman today. It was actually really good. Robert Pattinson played a far better Batman than I expected.
