First, under Sec. 600.1, the appointment of a special counsel is only triggered when a determination is made that a criminal investigation of a person or matter is warranted, when the Justice Department has a conflict of interest, and when the appointment would be in the public interest. Second, under Sec. 600.3, the investigation must be conducted by a special counsel team with a reputation for integrity and impartial decision-making. IMO, Mueller blew it by not making sure he had people with integrity and impartial decision making. His team was full of biased lets get him at whatever cost players. He should of cleansed his team from the beginning and appointed those with integrity. How could he not, he knew from the beginning, his investigation was going to be tainted because of some of the characters on his team.
How did I get wrapped up in this? I’ve deliberately stayed toxic-fire distance away from this, because a) I care about my clearance more than many and b) I’m on active duty. Maybe add in c) I haven’t seen the report, and don’t trust much of anything that can’t be verified by source documents. I will state for the record that I’m a bit concerned that some of the indictments you’re quoting fall into the category of “empty stats.” As in “I don’t know how finding out that Manafort is a tax-evading piece of excrement proves Trump colluded with Russians to steal the election from HRC and the Democrats.” “I don’t know how indicting Russians who beg you to take it to trial so that they can use discovery against you, so you back off.” Etc. At the end of the day, and it may not be this day, I think we can all be happy that even under the most highly principled scrutiny from a saint of a special investigator, there was (and I don’t know, I’m reading secondhand) absolutely no evidence whatsoever found of any level of anything remotely illegal collusion or otherwise of the President, his staff or his acquaintances. It seems to have been a legitimate election with no evidence of any illegal shenanigans on Trump’s part. The Republic was not endangered due to Trump! Now, let’s use Saint Bobby’s magical anal microscope to crawl up the rectum of HRC, Brazile, Strzok, Page, McCabe, Coney, Rosenstein, Wassermann Schultz, anyone who forwarded the “Steele Dossier”, FISA exploiters, ... while I’m positive that similar things to this Special Investigation will be found because all of these fine people were just doing their best, it’s best for the Republic that we make sure. Who’s with me?
Well you guys are working overtime trying to twist this into a “told you so” moment. Reading a lot of these posts I’m reminded of Stephen A. Smith, taking his hilariously incorrect predictions and haphazardly writing them off as a win.
Nothing from my camp says "I told you so".....that's from team Trump. Believe me, there's no winning in the "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain" defense...if you find some sort of satisfaction in the fact Trump is not under threat of impeachment...then that's really all you've got. I take comfort in knowing the sleazebag is less than two years from the door. He's a soft, narcissistic liar...you can cheer from the cheapseats...I'll heckle from the curb..and if you think I'm working overtime I'll expect that check in the mail...that you listen to Stephen A. Smith says it all..now that's hilarious
It is interesting that Trump hasn't tweeted at all today. He's been on a tear every morning these last couple of weeks. Calm B 4 The Tweet Storm.
Part of me, the cynical part of me, thinks he's waiting to be smug about how the Mueller report is a lot of nothing hamberders, OR he's realizing that he's probably in a bit of a pickle and should keep his trap shut. We're a very short attention span country, and honestly, it wouldn't be hard for him to just stop tweeting/being himself to make people kind of forget how much of a schmuck he is.
Mueller's Investigation 199 Criminal Counts 37 people and entities charged 5 people sentenced to prison 7 people pleaded guilty Nothing to see here people
Based on what has been reported, I submit the following: Mueller’s Investigation into Collusion by the Trump Campaign with Russians (submitted based primarily on evidence from the “Steele Dossier”) in order to undermine the 2016 election” 199 criminal counts, none dealing with the 2016 election 37 people and entities charged, none dealing with the 2016 election 5 people sentenced to prison, none for the 2016 election 7 people plead guilty, none due to the 2016 election. While I absolutely applaud those who want to heckle and catcall from the curb/cheap seats and vote him out in 2020, I think we can all put to bed the patently false narrative that Trump’s election was anything more than enough people voted according to the laws of the US to make him President. For that, Robert Mueller, we salute you!
The decision to appoint Mueller was corrupted by people with a clear political bias and agenda, who hoped to accomplish through the Justice Department and the special counsel process what they could not accomplish through a fair election. Top Justice Department officials who were directly involved in the decision to appoint Mueller as special counsel hated President Trump with all their hearts and souls, and were committed to acting on that hatred. Im glad Muellers part is over and there is another election in a couple years. For me, I still wont get he type of politician I want, unless a libertarian come out of no where. I would vote for either democrat or republican candidate if they were reasonably balanced and controlled the size of government.
