I don't feel like that's something I need to confirm about for her since it's a pretty known fact. A simple Google search will clear that up for you.

So you can't. Then I'll assume she hasn't.

Because it's the same argument that I have with ANY politician. I don't think it should be a career. I don't see how they can represent the people when they eventually lose touch with what it's like to BE one of the people. How many people do you know who make that much money? Term limits should exist and I think once a politician has to consider constantly running for re-election, they stop serving the people and they start serving themselves. If you couldn't afford an expensive car or house BEFORE you became a politician, you damn sure shouldn't be able to afford an expensive car or house BECAUSE you became a politician. People shouldn't become wealthy because they became civil servants.

Capitalism isn't about rewarding hard work. If it was, farmworkers would be rich. It's about a stupid, lazy, vulgar person like Trump living soft all his life on money he didn't earn, never being held accountable for anything, while Kevin Durant's mom worked two jobs and frequently went to bed hungry so her children could eat. And millionaires in Congress, overwhelming white men, pontificate about how aiding poor people tales away their incentive to work while voting a giant tax cut for the rich.

Absolutely, it is! Conversely, Socialism et al, is about carving out capital from the capital capitalists earn!

We already have massive corruption and one in 10 households facing food insecurities under capitalism. Enacting a few socialist policies isn't going to lead to the bread lines everyone scares you on.

Im not sure what we’re pretending this two party failed experiment is, but it’s not capitalism, or socialism. A few more years down this path though and I think it’ll be safe to call it a banana republic.

We cemented our banana republic status on January 6, 2021. The continued refusal to accept the election results only doubles down on our new status going forward……

    I really dislike term limits.

And truly I do not mean this as a Tump take, but as an example: You need career politicians and civil servants, just like you need career lawyers and doctors and auto mechanics. Having a guy like Trump, who knew nothing about how government works, was disastrous. Lethal actually. Like or dislike Biden, at least he knows how to pull the reins of government. That's because he's been in it his whole adult life.

I don't like term limits either. I don't like anyone telling me who I cannot vote for as long as they meet reasonable standards.

If politicians don't get paid well you'll never have enough capable politicians to do anything good.

The smart people will be doctors, lawyers, and investment bankers. The crooked ones will get into politics to make theirs and their friend's personal business more profitable.

This is what we have now, partially because our politicians aren't paid as well as their peers (doctors, lawyers, bankers, executives).

I would suggest we need publicly funded elections, HIGHER pay for politicians, and policies to prevent business influence on politics (limits to lobbying, official publicly funded research and technical departments to make lobbying less necessary, and limit politicians from returning to business for 5 years after their term ends).

It's hilarious that the lizard brains are so frightened of AOC.
