Didn't Biedrins get a double double in his first start at 18-19 years of age? When he gets bigger and stronger he could be a pretty interesting player. He could be like a bigger K-mart or he could be similar to Dwight Howard if his shooting form ever improves. Before the NBA Biedrins demonstrated he could hit the three a few times in a row but his funky shot mechanic never made him consistent.

I wouldn't bet on his shot improving. Just look at those free throws.

That's a terrific article by Kawakami.

And it's eerie because lately I have been wondering about ol' Monty.

correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe he has never gotten a technical. Even during the bullcrap Pistons games where they went to the line like 40 more times than GS did. He never gets really pissed off; sure he'll throw a little tantrum or a little smirk but that's about what Dunleavy does. He never gets pissed at his own players, or just friggin ticked off at all. He should. He needs to get a T once in a while to let his players know he won't stand for it. Against the Grizz, it was obvious they were trying to hammer Boom Dizzle everytime he drove. If I am Montgomery, I either get Mario Elie to get out there and scream at an official till he gets thrown out, or I do it myself. WTF? Baron is taking more physical abuse than Shaun Alexander this year. That has to stop. Also, there are some players who need to get lit into for doing bonehead things. Specifically, a good coach -- one who would get really pissed off when the team goes 3-20 from three -- would sit the guys down at practice and say "Hey, guys, okay, now I know you like to stand around cold and jack up trey-bombs, but guess what -- you're not good at shooting them. So stop. Or I'll bench you."

It's kind of romantic to think of a solid-fundamental college coach coming to the NBA, taking alot of raw talent and egos and bringing them together to play team ball. It's a great concept. It doesn't seem to be working that well.
I like the idea of Mario Elie as a coach. The W's better not let him entertain offers from other teams next offseason like the Niners are doing with Singletary.
