The dealers and their helpers were out in force. The sale was well advertised with over 600 albums for sale. They snapped up most of the good stuff before I even knew what was happening, but I did get a few and am enjoying the ones I got.

Ahh Steely Dan, such a group that has a ton of lovers and haters. I always loved their song "Any Major Dude Will Tell You."

    Wilco does an amazing cover.

Have you ever listened to Jean Michel Jarre? Here is a cut from his album Equinox. Another good one is Oxygene as well as Rendevous and Magnetic Fields. The albums are all one track broken down into seperate songs, but I would love cranking the sounds and kicking back in the dark with my eyes closed listening to it.

Out of curiosity what speakers are you using in your set up?

I have not heard any Jean Michel Jarre. Thanks for the recommendation, I will check it out.

I tend to rotate through several sets of speakers/turntables/cartridges/amps. I am constantly trying new combinations to see what I like best. Over the weekend, I put a pair of JBL L36 Decades I restored/reimagined back into my downstairs vinyl system. I tried them first with a Sansui AU-717, but quickly went back to the Yamaha A-1000 I previously used with these speakers. That pair is just a great sounding match:

Before that, I was running a pair of JBL 4301B Control monitors with a little Sherwood S-7100A receiver:

I briefly had the Rectilinear III Highboys back in the system, but I need to refinish the cabinets so I can sell them. They are great speakers, but just too much for my current living space:

As were the ElectroVoice Interface Ds I sold before I moved. Best sounding speakers I have ever owned, but WAY too much for my 1250 sq ft townhouse:

I continue to run a pair of KEF 104/2 Reference Series in the master bedroom. I settled in on these a few years ago, and they just seem to do everything well. They are a very listenable, non-fatiguing speaker. They don't have the low end slam of the Interface Ds, but they put out more than enough bass for a bedroom system. And, the unique design means the footprint isn't really any bigger than a pair of much smaller stand mounted speakers:

That photo was taken at my old place. Even though the new place is smaller, the layout of the master bedroom has let me spread out the speakers, which provides a better stereo image.

I have others that go in and out of the rotation, usually when I'm getting ready to sell a pair, but those are the ones that have stuck around the longest - so far.

Some nice speaker sets especially the Kef's. I actually run kef speakers in my car set up. I also love the vintage JBL speakers as I had a pair of JBL 150 towers that were awesome and my roommate had a pair of JBL L65's that were beasts as well and together they got the cops attention a few times, lol.

Recently discovered LCD Sound System. Great fucking band. This is one of the best songs I've heard in recent memory.

This was waiting at my front door when I got home from work tonight:

Absolutely amazing sound quality. The new stereo mix by Giles Martin is incredible. His father would have been very proud of his work.
