Wish I had scheduled my vacations for the tournament this year, i'll still get to listens to the games while at work but its not the same.
Ment to put this in to

Who's the best under-the-radar 2013 NBA draft prospect?
Pelton: Kelly Olynyk. A week ago, I would have said Otto Porter, but his huge week for Georgetown -- 33 of his team's 57 points in a rare win at Syracuse and the game-winning bucket in overtime last night at Connecticut -- has blown up his draft stock. I'll try to stay ahead of the curve with Olynyk, a 7-foot Canadian who has blossomed after a redshirt year and is arguably the country's most effective scorer. Like Anthony Davis, Olynyk was a guard before a growth spurt, which gives him plenty of upside to explore as a pro.

Greg Anthony just said during the halftime show of the WVU/KU game:

"Say what you want, but Kelly Olynyk WILL be a lottery pick and in my mind is the best player in the country".

Well if we do get our draft pick he will probably still be available. There are a lot of players rated higher than him based on POTENTIAL. I mean look at Shabazz, he has not dominated many games in the Pac 12, but he has shown enough flashes of brilliance for all of us fans to believe his hype coming out of high school.

As far as Olynyk, I look forward to watching him in the tournaments. The glimpses I have seen have not yet sold me on him. I don't mind "heavy legs" if a guy is physical. But the short clips I have seen......he just looks slow. But the tournament can change that. I will root for the Zags.....unless my Ducks slip in and face them.

I can not believe that MickZagger is not all over the Kelly Olynyk dunk. It was sick!

Edit: Of course he chimes in seconds before I post this :)

Not taking anything away from the dunk.. He didn't jump very high. It was a great dunk though

I mean, he's not DeAndre Jordan athletically, but I think some of these posters are holding him to that unreasonable standard "athletically." The guy's far from the stereotypical "big white stiff." The reality is that, on the NBA level, as a center, he's an above-average athlete. If his listed height of 7'0" is accurate, he's more mobile than most of the seven footers in the league. Just look at the way he runs the floor versus someone like Spencer Hawes, who ya'll have compared him to.

With that said, he's not a perfect prospect, but no big man is even close to being the complete package in this year's class. I think people are being overly critical about his athletic abilities, just because there's a near-300 post thread in his name, and well, he's a seven foot white guy and people have misconceptions about that.

Yeah, that's the play, but in Zags defense, like I said my last post, he's defending him against some unreasonable critics.

That wasn't exactly a jaw-dropping athletic dunk, like something I think my boy Adreian Payne would do, but holding him to the standard of the elite athletes in the collegiate game is just ridiculous if you're not going to hold those same athletes to the skillset that Olynyk has.

I feel like Zags has been put in a position to defend the guy as the second coming of Kareem, when really it all started with him saying the guy was a good prospect for the Blazers, and well, check out the current projections...

The reality is that he's a decent prospect whose athleticism is undersold because of his appearances, but in reality, he runs the floor better than most seven footers in the NBA right now. I still question his post-up game, his rebounding ability, and I'm wondering if he's really 7'0", but I don't think it's fair to question the dude's athleticism, when he's an above average athlete for his size.

When you pick on his athleticism, that's just picking on his game without really getting to see him play. There are so many better strengths and weaknesses of his game to talk about, so why are we talking about his athleticism?

Given the play by the other top teams this season, I can't see how Gonzaga isn't a number one seed. The inconsistent play by the other top teams has opened the door for Gonzaga. I haven't researched it, but just on feel, it sure seems like many of the top teams have lost as they get to number one, or have had themselves in prime position. More than any other recent seasons, it seems. No way they're anything less than a number two (well, there is, but that'd be total BS), but they should be a one.

The guy from the selection committee was on CBS and basically said there's one lock as a 1 seed and the guys asked if its gonzaga and the committee guy basically smiled and says he wasn't going to say. It's pretty obvious they will be.
