Kobe finished fourth in the MVP voting...
Players would probably do something stupid and vote for their teammates. The Media is good. They arent biased and usually they make smart decisions which are usually the right ones. It's fine how it is now.
this is stupid... player wins east cost crap then mvpor west coast player then mvp... ni99a dont need 2 awardsjust stick wit one at the end of playoffs.U might as well say at the end of the season there should be a NW SW or Atlantic etc... player of the year. Thats giving players too much credit before they accomplish their goal. Which is to win the championship. You fight your way to earn that sh*t the hardest for the team then u r the MVP.
I like the idea. It would be like the MLB. Also, like Dogma said, have an overall MVP based on a ballot.

You dont think that a lot of the media was giving votes to LeBron and Nash just because they dont like Kobe? I think a ton of the ppl that vote hate players and hold a grudge against them. I think the coaches and front office ppl in the orginizations should vote(president and GM). I think that would be the fairest thing.
You want to get into this again?Kobe didnt win becase the MVP award to me means the Most Valuable Player to your team in the entire NBA. A truly valuable player would be a leader through the tough and the good times. Kobe didnt do that. He made 1 point in the 2nd half of the most important game of the year. Kobe did not make his teammates better, or pass the ball at all. That is not what the MVP would do. People also said that he was by far the best scorer. Well guess what, Lebron was only 3 or 4 ppg behind Kobe and shot a higher percentage because Kobe does not take it in as often as most other superstars. And to cap off my argument Kobe was a 7th seed. 7th seeds rarely even get considered for that award. Usually it is the player on the 60+ win team that gets it.
CB4 when you say the 1 point in the 2nd half thing your refering to the 7th game of the Lakers-Suns?MVP isn't handed out to the most valuable playoff player,it's who does the best in the regular season. However, you are right that 7th-8th seeds never win the MVP since it means they haven't done much of a job really.I think LeBron has equally as bad as a team in an easier conference but he still did a great job of getting them to 50 wins and he should be the MVP.

All i said was that you cant tell me that the media has a big bias and hates Kobe compared to LeBron and Nash. No where in there did i say Kobe deserves MVP or anything near to that. To help you see what i'm saying is lets say Bosh had a great individual season, but his team play sucks. Well how many ppl in the media think are watching Raptor games? Probably only a handful. They are biased to the big stars. Now if GMs, coaches, and presidents were voting they wouldnt have such a bias towards players since they watch more games and actaully coach against them.

Kobe makes his teammates a lot better, and he passes the ball. Maybe you should get your ass out of Canada and watch Laker games instead of listening to the biased media.
