My dad died suddenly at 71, four years ago. Gave him a hug in my kitchen, he walked out the door, went on a walk with his friends and had a sudden massive heart attack. The worst day of my life. Think about him every day.

That's terrible man. So sorry. My dad passed away seven years ago almost to the day. Kind of knew he was going though. This one is tougher or is going to be. Out of nowhere like your dad. Such a shock.

Chris Im sorry I didn’t post until now. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’m glad you were able to get those precious moments with her at the end. i think the thing that I take solace in is that our parents live on in us and we give them life every day in how we raise our kids. Pass all that love to your family.

I'm hurting for you, brother. I'm really at a loss for what to say because I've never had to experience anything similar. I hope you have plenty of family support and know that you have tons of people for you if you need anything.

I too lost my mother suddenly, and at far too young of an age. But like you, I got to spend the time holding her hand, talking to her and saying the things that I needed to say. I am so very sorry for your loss Chris, but am so glad that you too had the time to spend with her in her final moments. If nothing else, the fact that you got to do that will carry you through. Every cloud has its silver lining. Let that be yours. Hang in there Chris. She will always live in you.

Only slept three hours last night. Woke up with the doctor's final words replaying in my head. Four words. Sorry for your loss. I woke up struck by the pain and the reality of what those four words really mean.

Heading to the funeral home today to sign some papers and get the funeral scheduled. This is tough.

    I can't even imagine.

Have had the pleasure of getting to know you over the years and it's so apparent you're an honorable man with a great moral compass and compassion. You were raised right and fair and you honor your parents that way.

I said it before and I'll say it again, if you need anything from us don't hesitate.

While a sudden death is shocking, for the person it can be a mercy. My mother died by inches. Any cat in so much pain would have been euthanized.

I am not going to advise you, @Chris Craig because grief is personal. There is no right or wrong way to grieve and anyone who tries to tell you you're doing it the wrong way is full of shit.
