He's better than Prince in every way. The difference is that DET had good team defense, so Tay's defensive reputation got a bump.

Hard to say. Who has money? I think he's even a UFA. Someone is going to throw him some serious money.

Both played the point forward position and were good defenders. Prince maybe a little better as a defender.

I think it's pretty spot on.

    Not true

Prince could actually take his man off the dribble, and he had a good post game.

Yep. Batum still can't really create his own shot, whether it be off the dribble or on a post up.

Prince was definitely a more accomplished scorer coming out of college.

Defensive rating from player to player on different teams is a terrible way to compare defenders, however. Stephenson's team has a much better DRTG than Nic's, which makes his better. If you look at the teams, however, Stephenson has a worse DRTG than the team as a whole does, Nic's is slightly better than our team rating.

He could, but didn't do it often because he wasn't a very good ball-handler either. We've seen Nic take guys off the dribble on occasion. So maybe he's not better than Prince in that regards, but I'd call them equals. Prince did have a better post-up game.
Nic would be brutal if he developed better ball-handling skills - it's his one weakness.

Prince was a very good all around player, but I think his overall reputation was enhanced because he played on a championship team. I hope Batum's reputation will someday be similarly enhanced.

I think the thing that really sets Batum apart from Prince is the deadly range of Batum. I think Prince didn't have the assist ability either. I do believe Prince was a better team defender though,
