I would suggest that since it is Beef's idea, he can choose who gets in. This isn't an equal access issue Bears#1Fan. <ahem> Being around a long time won't get you in either.

    Sorry. <ahem> Inside joke. LOL

Hey we all start at the bottom.. Just because i haven't been around overly long shouldn't be a reason to keep me from playing.

Count me in. The league Dolfandale and I have maintained since college is a true "keeper league" with a true rookie draft each year.

Although time posting may be a factor, I don't think it should be the only factor...don't rip on Bears#1Fan for being relatively new...

I'm definitely in...it sounds like a ton of fun.

I dont presume to tell anyone that they arent important to these forums because they havent been here for a long time....thats not the intention....but as a keeper league, I expect this thing to go for many seasons with the same teams participating....because of that, I want a track record of being here and playing in our leagues for the initial franchises....this is our 4th season here at NFL Forums and a lot of us were together for 2 previous seasons elsewhere, so some of us have a 6 year history....I trust that those guys, whom ive bickered with for 6 years, will be here to bicker with next year as well....the initial 12 franchises will go to the core members that have been here for multiple seasons and have played FF on this forum before....if thats not you, dont fret....in future seasons, someone will bow out, someone will lose interest, or someone will stop showing up....when that happens, franshices will be available....

^ I cant get over its been 6 years since the first league...WOW lol, some of you guys are now "officially" old LOL. Im just messing with you guys ofcourse. Would we open a yahoo group and keep the rosters in there and then draft through yahoo. Or would we use some kind of special software?

If beef listens to me, first thing we will do is exclude you . . .j/k [IMG]. If you werent in, someone else would have to finish last every single year

Does Yahoo have a keeper set up? I'lll have to look into it...if not, we could use Yahoo for the initial season and figure out something for the future....it now appears as if we have enough support to go through with this, so its a go....Im going to wait a few more days to see who wants in and then ill start narrowing the field....Im setting the limit at 12 franchises and we already have something like 16 interested, so not eveyone is going to be able to get an initial franchise, and Im sorry about that, but they will become available in the future....next Friday is the 11th of August, Im going to leave the sign up open until 6am that day, then ill narrow the list and email the participants the rule set....

yahoo doesnt have a keeper league setup.... what they do have is yahoo groups. its like a webpage or a group for the league. What i've seen people doing is they draft offline on the league message board and then you submit the teams into a yahoo fantasy football league. You just do that every year so you wouldnt have to do a live draft on yahoo every year it wouldnt make sense. This way you can keep the teams and then do a rookie draft easily as a message board draft.

I've been a commish in a league which I did an offline draft.

Its quite simple you do a draft through a chatroom on AIM or even NFL-FORUMS if we wanted to. Then the Commish goes into yahoo and into your league and assigns all the players drafted, you then save the list on the Yahoo Groups feature and we would have a little site for our league, or we could always use NFL-FORUMS as our home base and have all the records and rosters here and use yaho as the computer/brains

you know like statistics and etc.

i dont like drafting through AIM or something like that, it becomes really difficult keeping track of whos been taken and such

Well... I've been here for about a year and a half and aren't planning on leaving anytime soon even if the Ravens lose... (which I hope not). I haven't played FF with the forums due to getting a new internet connection last year and is waiting for the draft this year (does that count?) but yeah, I hope I make the cut. I've done a keeper league with some of my buddies but not online. We tried to make a "home page" on freewebs, geocities, and yahoo but it was too hard so we kept everything on e-mail and met every twice a week to show our lineup, trades, and we went over to whoevers house on gameday to watch the game. But that plan is out the window knowing where most of you guys possibly live...
