The manager at that Jiffy Lube is a lying cocksucker. He changed his story at least three times to try to cover his ass. The district manager was very nice. He just wanted to pay me off and settle this thing without any further bullshit. He apologized. And he paid me. And he didn't screw around. No doubt he and the owner and their lawyer figured out it would cost more than the six eighty to go to court, where they'd probably end up losing and they were better off to cut their losses, pay me, and move on.
Fricken lying kills me. A couple years ago the mailman accidentally nailed my car when it was parked in front of my house -- luckily in full view of three neighbors. The punk went to my door and pretended to tell me so the neighbors would think he'd done the right thing. I had no clue until a day later when my neighbor said something about my "poor car". After that, it was pure craziness. The mailman refused to take responsibility. His supervisor refused to take responsibility. Her supervisor refused to take responsibility. All of this in spite of the fact I had signed letters from three different people saying they saw the bitchass hit my car. I was mentally getting ready to sue the federal government when an independent postal inspector got ahold of the file, apologized profusely and paid for the repairs. Effing mailman should be booted from the job, but that unfortunately did not happen.
