I was trying to think if this post was addressed at me in some way, but then I realized that I’m never right.
Was this thread a bad idea? Probably. But don’t we all want this place to be mostly light and funny? I mean, I can rage with the best of them, but gotcha-isms seem really against the spirit of things. I’m being vague because I want things to be better. We are talking about the Blazers, a passion for all of us, and like most things we all approach from different angles, but the core is there: Blazer fandom. (I’m never right either.)
Nah. Good thread, but you’re trying to change one of the basic defects in the human psyche. Good luck.
I would rather be wrong about predicting a win, than correct about predicting a loss. I have zero appreciation for anyone being correct about correctly predicting something negative about my team.
Not what he's saying. You hope for the best and then the outcome is what the outcome is. If it's not a good one, there is always next season.
Realistically? Since the outcome is not predetermined, "Being realistic"...is just odds favored "guessing". I could die tomorrow. That is realistic. I don't live my life reminding myself of that possibility. Who knows......I might live longer than odds say I will. At the very least, I will enjoy the years I do have more because I believed in a happier length of life.
