The more I think about it I like the Camby scenario. Imagine if we could send Boone, Marcus, Hassell and KVH for Camby and then Swift, Ager and protected pick for Nocioni.

    We'd have:

Starters: Harris, Carter, Nocioni, Yi and Camby (3 very good defenders in that lineup!)
Bench: Dooling (w/MLE?), Sean, Simmons, Lopez, CDR, Anderson, Hodge

Maybe add Krstic on a cheap deal.
If Sean can step up and play significant minutes at the 4 we could have one of the better defensive teams in the league.

For Camby!!! Defensive player of the year! That's a no brainer.

I like the guy, but he's not going to be much better than he is. If he could bring back Camby and give Anderson, Swat and Lopez time to develop I'm fine with it.

Sold! And I'd add that Vince's D last year was very good, especially after the cortisone shot in late January.

    2 things.

I seriously doubt Denver wants a fat PG who doesnt pass to play in their system.

and Im not sure I want to give up picks

    Other than that Im sold.

Marcus is a throw in. Maybe he becomes something for them. I think there is a reason he is playing in the Rocky Mountain Revue.

They need to drop some salary to re-sign JR (KVH) and they need a person that can back-up Nene and play center (Boone).

ugh... no thanks on Camby... too old, wouldn't help rebounding much if at all, would hurt our offense, and would take from our future to add to now, when we aren't going to do anything. No way I trade Boone for him.

They only have Carter and Atkins at the point. They can afford one roster spot to a young pg to see if he develops. They only got 1 rookie (Weems).
They only have 11 guys under contract pending free agency.

Are you high? Camby averaged 13.1 rebounds and 3.6 blocks last season. He's a solid 10/10 guy PLUS 3 blocks!

He would be a huge mentor to Sean, Lopez and Anderson. He actually makes your future better by helping those guys.

I can see people questioning Najera, but not Camby.

I think we can do better than Najera... Plus we have enough Bigs IMO. We need wing players now. And I'll pass on Camby. He'll take minutes away from our rookies. I'd rather lose games with our rookies playing 25 minutes each than having camby play for 30 minutes and lose the game. Player development people!

Camby is 34 years old, makes way too much money and makes no sense for this team.

If he does come to NJ then the nets are a fucked up orgazation.

No way i give them anything for him.

Yes and Camby's D is what? Oh wait what about the 3.3 points he had in the playoffs.

Netted give me some of what you are smoking.

I would like the addition of Camby to NJ, he can be a great defensive mentor to Sean Williams and Lopez.

I agree. Swift, KVH, Draft pick and maybe Kristic in a S&T.

he fought his teammates for his rebounds at times. So he doesn't help as much as his numbers look. I don't think rebounding will be a problem anyway. And even if he did help us that much, it wouldn't matter, we won't compete while we have him. And the mentor thing is really overrated. thats the coaches job, the players are going to focus more on themselves. It'd probably be more productive to have young guys to grow together and compete.
