They'd have to like whoever we happened to pick at 7. Because if we pick for them, we're screwed if ant decides he doesn't want to be in Brooklyn
Yeah I tend to agree. I don't think the cost to acquire KD will be as high as some imagine. 3 first round picks and a young player might do it. Any team acquiring KD needs to keep enough assets to contend, so just like Harden the new team can only give up so much. The tricky part with Brooklyn is they sent out a bunch of picks, so the normal tanking route the next few years probably doesn't make any sense for them. So veterans may have to come back. The Blazers probably don't have a way to make it happen though, first they have to get their picks back from Chicago (probably not too difficult), but then they have to make salaries match and give up win now players. Then the Blazers also have to keep enough veterans to have a contending team around Dame and Durant. Maybe if we didn't trade 4 starters for Didi, a backup and mediocre pick we'd be better positioned to explorer these types of trades that actually could lead to contention. Thats one reason why I and many others were so against the trades, especially the Clippers trade.
Not a hater at all. I think Nurk is great, but we can get a center better suited for our needs much cheaper and spend that money on wings
Dame hasn't gone on a ring chasing coat tail ride. There is nothing wrong with being loyal and not winning a ring. Stockton gets nothing but respect for a reason. Durant... He's just another mercenary... If he goes to a team ready to win he'll win. If not, he won't.
