My niece/Goddaughter and one of her siblings both have significant developmental issues. I guess it's cool to make fun of "retards" but not to make fun of auto-immune diseases? I'm not going to be all "holier than thou" because I drop the "retard" word on occasion (usually in reference to posters on this board). But if someone is cool dropping "retard" and what not, I don't think they should expect others to tread lightly regarding diseases/unfortunate circumstances that they or their family has to deal with. Just sayin'.
I didn't post "retard". "tardo" is another word for "sloth", as in "slow". Hence, barfo, because he's always about 5 conversations behind, and I usually have no idea what he's talking about. I'm sorry about your niece, and wish her well. Getting upset at me for something I didn't do, though, is typical of this place.
Uh, yeah. Tardo is a variation, or play off of, "retard". You tardo. And I'm not upset - believe it or not, I rarely get worked up over anything related to this board. Just pointing out the irony.
Urban dictionary? Anyhow, I always used to hear it as "tard". Hadn't heard "tardo" ever used as a smear of the mentally retarded. Anybody offended, I apologize.
witness the bradypodidae 3 toed sloth (or more commonly referred to as a tardo) in its natural habitat, eating leaves, petals and shoots from the cecropia tree.
Today's news: Science proves that the Religious Right are a bunch of retards! http://www.philly.com/philly/health/132456883.html
