Just need one more announcement to make this day complete; the Portland Trailblazers announce they have bought out the contract of Raymond Felton!

Doesn't anyone here realize Nate was the only "basketball" person on the Blazers management team?

All those picks and cap space will now be pissed away for more crappy, lazy, overpaid "players".

Same old same old. Nothing new to see here.

The Oregonian still runs this team and makes the personnel decisions apparently.

This "basketball person" is the same one who misused Sergio and Rudy, causing their values to plummet and be traded for nothing. Considering you only watch basketball to be entertained, I thought you'd be thrilled to see the king of ISO be sent away.

I hear PA walked into the locker room asked to see Nate draw up an out of timeout play and Nate said "I guess this is my last day?"

    HAHAHA!

    NICE!!!

Haven't you noticed that Maris always plays devils advocate to everything? He's a troll. He even admits it in his own signature.

Other than entertainment, why else would you watch basketball?

To fire a coach while retaining mutinous players is about as weak as any owner can get, and proves the inmates are running the asylum here. This team just went from being a poor mishmash of non-complimentary players to being a bad joke.

This is what you do when you want to sell a team.

    No GM under contract

    Fire the coach

Trade away vets and gather up as much cap space as you can

    keep key players

    aquire picks

Thank you Paul Allen, it has been a fun ride

Good the final piece to the nightmare and the curse of the Trailblazers will be when PA takes his Seattle ass back home! He's just as much to blame as anyone else!

That is a good point. A new owner could come in and immediately put his mark on the team. Interesting angle.

    No trolling here, ever.

The disclaimer is simply to discourage the wave of baseless lawsuits that inevitably turn up whenever I post the truth about this team, which is a daily occurence.

Glad to see Nate go. Kind of disappointed we went with a no-name instead of D'Antoni who is available.

Nate's a good coach, and I think he'll get another job.

He actually is a good PG coach, aside for the train wreck of Felton. Ridnour, Blake and Telfair all played their best hoops under him. Jack improved after moving to 3 different teams, so you can't really say it was Nate holding him back--just maturity. You can't blame Nate that these guys had little talent. He did the most with what he could. I think it'd have been really interesting to see him coach Johnny Flynn, but oh well.

I'm not as giddy as many here are over the changes. I'm too depressed at the failure of the season to date to be excited about tanking. Maybe once we have those (hopefully) 2 top 10 picks I'll feel better about all this. But then Flynn and Thabeet were once top 10 picks too before being traded for our castoffs, so how excited can you get.....

If you want to save money you don't fire the coach while he has over a year left on his contract.

    Not about the money on Nates contract that ends this year, its about being able to put your own guys in place with as much easse as possiable;
