I'm saying Roy isn't an uptempo player. He is Jerome Bettis, to some degree. Running toss sweeps with Bettis would have been fucking stupid. I thought that post was fucking stupid too, so I commented on it. Implying that Nate is somehow hurting Roy's career , or will hurt his career, seemed fucking stupid to me.
But can't there be an easier way to get Roy to the basket in our half court offense? The answer is yes of course. Roy would benefit by more player movement so the defense can't sink into the key. Roy moving off the ball would get him clearer lanes to the basket off of the wing. For him to have to wait until the defense is set and waiting for him is counter productive. The only reason he is so successful is because he is so great. Roy doesn't have to sprint out on the break, but if the team pushed the ball and hit him as a trailer, he would still be in possition to attack the defense before it was set.
This is just fucking stupid, I felt like I needed to point out how fucking stupid this is, did I mention this is fucking stupid?
Having Roy run around more on offense is going to save his knees? Interesting theory, there. I find criticizing Nate for how Roy is as a player fucking hilarious. The original post I was responded to was still fucking stupid, in my opinion.
Do you understand the difference between running off screens and creating your offense with cuts at the top of the key and three point line? Somehow I don't think you do.
Fire Nate because he's ruining Brandon Roy! Get a grip. There are plenty of reasons to fire Nate, if you so choose. Some valid, some ridiculous. That said, I found your "reason" fucking stupid. That's a whole new level. If you want to turn Roy into Rip Hamilton, just trade him for Rip Hamilton.
Other than Popovich, every COY in the last decade has been gone within 3 years of winning the award. Those who want Nate gone would hope for the same for him, see?
