NBA Live has a 'Be a pro' mode in it which makes me tempted to buy it since 2K9s graphics look the same as last year pretty much. I'm just going to have to rent them both before tossing out 70 bucks.
I want to pick up one of these (possibly on the way home today). That video for 2K9 made it look pretty awesome. The last one I played was....2K6? Before that I had been all about Live, but it just kind of got too arcadey. For any of those who play either of them this afternoon, let me know what you think
I'm having a lot of fun with 2K9 right now. Portland is a very fun team to play with. My only beef is that Chicago (opposition) has 81 points...at halftime. Wtf? And I'm too scared to toggle with the settings. So if anyone messes around with it...to perhaps fix it...let me know what you did. I'm playing on Allstar level btw. Buy NBA 2K9!
What are the special features and how are they? Like the gym thing on the menu, the dynasty mode features, online play...is it on ps3?
NBA 365 is very cool, but Live needs to think about fixing it's gameplay before incorporating new features into the game.
just came home with 2K9. may try to sneak some in before class tonight... ..keep in mind, I'm TERRIBLE at these games, I don't know the details or anything in depth like that for certain things..I just play it for fun B)
I like that both games adjust the players daily based on their performances throughout the season. I guess we won't know how that works until the real games start, though.
Monta Ellis doesn't look like an alien anymore. Game is sick though. Graphics are improved, crowd looks great and so does all the sweat on the players when the camera zooms in. Eddy Curry was chewing gum when they showed him lol. Gameplay is improved like the pick and roll and the way players drive to the basket. The new commentator is annoying as hell which is my biggest problem with it so far.
2k9 is sweet. First game, Bulls vs. Blazers. Lost by 3 points. Derrick Rose had 8 points and 6 assists. Gordon was cold for most of the game, but led a valiant comeback effort and finished with 22. Second game, Hornets vs. Heat. I was Hornets. Lost by 3 points again. Had a big lead in the first half, but fell apart in the 2nd. Third game, Bulls vs. Thunder. Blew the crap out of the Thunder. Fourth game, Blazers vs. Lakers. I was the Blazers. Lakers got off to the early lead, they just have so much firepower. Then I began cutting the lead down, but Bynum/Gasol dominated in the mid-4th. Then, Bayless, in the last 2 minutes, led us back from down 12, and Brandon Roy hit a game tying 3 to bring it into overtime, and ended up winning by 2 points.
I'm reading the instructions at work trying to memorize nine pages of controls. I wonder how many of these I'll actually be able to use.
