https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-twitter-mixed-reactions-reported-015506796.html The NBA appears to want to return to the Eastern vs Western conference teams format in the all-star team that were switched to team leaders and a draft in 2018. The NBA also wants the game to be more competitive to push back against criticisms of lazy or no defense in the annual game and to raise viewership. One way to up the stakes, put forward by fans is to give the winner HCA in the Finals. Fans would also like them to go back to wearing their own teams jerseys with all star patches. What do you think?
Being that there are four rounds in the playoffs and If they are going to do the HCA rule, The NBA could decide each round by quarter? Just a thought.
the game was in Utah, nobody wanted to be there. Pick a different city for the All-Star game. Send everyone to London, or Sydney, take the ASG international.
The problem with the all star game can’t be solved by rules. The generation of players don’t give a shit. You can’t change that.
At first I thought it would kind of a neat idea, but what about a team that had zero all stars, and made it to the finals with a better record, but didn't host it because of something they had no control over?
Make it a four team tournament over All-Star weekend. There are too many great players that get snubbed under the current system. Guys might actually play some basketball if they knew their team might get eliminated on Day 1.
Give them something meaningful to play for... Winning conference playoff teams get to pick the refs for their playoff games.
Well they would in theory have an easier path since the stars teams they beat lost to the other conferences stars.
Id go back to East vs West. Fine with HCA but don't really care. I do think they should reseed each round. Makes regular season more important.
Mid-season tourney, all-star tourney, sounds like special olympics, everyone gets a trophy. Why can't you be happy with our Summer League championship?
Rearrange the matchups based on existing seeding, like the NFL does. For example, Denver would have played the Lakers in the 2nd round, with Phoenix going against Golden State.
