Re: NBA Changes Playoff Seeding Format & MORE! Because allthough the Mavs had depth, they didnt' have quite the quality they have now.
Re: NBA Changes Playoff Seeding Format & MORE! Love the changes. But I bet a lot were expecting the seeding change. A lot of announcers were foreshadowing this.

Practically any player could be more useful to the Mavericks. The fact that you don't know that baffles me, but whatever. Players like Powell, Marshall, Pavel, and Darrell Armstrong are gone now. Those guys are the guys you were talking about playing less than six minutes a game, if at all. Now we have players that are at least known for being worthwhile in the playoffs, so yeah, I think we can find places to use them. I mean, if you honestly think we can't find times to utilize Johnson, Croshere, George, and Buckner. Well, I guess I will just have to let you think whatever silliness you wish to believe. But to me, the opportunities will definitely be there. The only guys I'd be unsure about would be Ager and Pops, but you never know how they could turn out.Anyway, you seem to be under the impression that I'm saying, "Hey! The Mavs can use all 15 players for 30 minutes each in a single game!" That, amazingly enough, is not what I'm saying at all. If you read the rules, it's still 12 active players per game. The Mavs can and probably would use all 15 players in a playoffs. That is all I am getting at.
Re: NBA Changes Playoff Seeding Format & MORE! <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Honestly, how many teams will be playing guys that deep on the bench? None of the teams will. The spurs played a 7 to 8 man rotation. The heat played a 8 man rotation and the pistons played around the same. Why would they need 15?</div> So what your saying is the league shouldn't even have a active 12 man playoff roster. Which even with this new rule, is still implanted. All it does is open up the roster for other players to supposedly get time when before if they were off the playoff roster, they were off it. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>how many of the new players are going to play more than Marquis Daniels(who played like 6 mins a game in the finals)?</div> Anthony Johnson should easily play more then 6 minutes. Devean George in situational moments can as well. Greg Buckner will be starting, another new guy. Austin Croshere will be taking Van Horn's minutes, again over 6. Ager/Pops will be taking Marshall and Powell's spot but unlike last year, their eligible to play now and it's been stated Mavs could have used Ager's shooting touch in the Miami series. So a guy who would have been off the playoff roster, can be activated now before a game and serve a purpose. It's a good move by the league. I'm betting teams will stash vets on their roster now, in case of any injuries/situations that come up during the playoffs.
