Of course, that's based on Lewis' PER of 12.0 this year, which I seriously doubt would be repeated. In fact, if anyone would be able to get all-star caliber production out of Lewis again, wouldn't it be Nate?

JaVale McGee - seriously? He's a slightly richer man's Keith Closs. Nevada fans thought it was Christmas when he was superseded by Luke Babbitt. The only thing he's got going for him is he was born in beautiful Flint, Michigan.

Kanter's offensive game is very similar to Okur. He doesn't have his range yet but Kanter/McGee could easily work. I don't see why this would make JaVale available.

Blazers took Faried out to dinner last night. They really, really like him. (via BFT)

They should have taken him to MB's favorite pizzeria, Bellagios.

I would be ecstatic if we drafted Faried.

Not sure "ecstatic" is the word I would use.....maybe ho-hum instead?

McMillan compares him to a Reggie Evans type of player, which is not overly appealing to me...

POR needs some scorers, players who can creat 1v1 and a backup PG more than they need a b\u PF, and there are a fair amount of intriguing options for a b\u PF in free agency...Carl Landry & Kris Humphries are 2 that come to mind.....Freeland would be another possibility...

Rather see POR go for a PG or a scorer....

Wouldn't mind seeing them acquire a 2nd 1st rounder to get a big man, maybe a center like Benson or Tyler. Vucevic looks like a big stiff to me...

Kemba and Knight are working out today in Toronto. Separately.

Makes no sense to me. I remember in 06, when Roy, Gay, Ammo, and Hassan Adams, four of the top wing prospects in that draft came out to PDX to workout together.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

We are definitely in agreement with the needs that we have, and should fill this offseason. But if we are not very active this draft and stick at #21 and Faried is still there, I will be more than happy if we take him.

I think his dominance on the boards will definitely translate to the NBA and is something we need off of the bench, and possibly in the starting lineup. As Camby continues to age and the year-to-year health of Oden up in the air, Faried would give us a pretty good option at the 4.

If Oden never truly makes it into the starting lineup, I can see Faried starting down the road at the 4 with LMA at the 5, and I think it'd be a pretty effective lineup if you add Crash/Wesley and whoever is our PG in there.

Also, with the lockout and the amount of money that would need to be spent on Humphries and Landry to just come in here and backup the 4, would just simply not be worth it.

Re: NBA Draft Thread Vol. 2

It'd be an effective rebounding lineup. But with a limited offensive game, Faried on the floor doesn't help LMA at all to avoid double teams.
