Would you please be realistic ? No one is sweeping anybody in this series either Boston is winning in 6 or L.A. is winning in 6 or 7.

No skill level and he'll already have more titles than him at that point.

if C's had closed them out in game 4 and gotten the sweep, everyone would have blamed Dwight for doing bad, it's not as much as him having a 'good' series as it is C's doing a shitty job closing a series.

I agree and disagree Boston was complacent but at the same time Orlando showed a lot of heart and fight to at least make it somewhat of a series and Howard played great the last 3 games.

Pau averaged 22 and 11 against a bunch of stiffs. Name one good big man defender he has played against in the playoffs.

I think we should go 2004 Pistons on the Celtics. Just beat them with defense and let their old age show.

IMO, Rondo is the only TRUE threat of their's right now. Artest will cover Pierce, Kobe will cover Allen, Perkins isn't an offensive threat, and KG has his hands full with Pau.

I'm still going with Lakers in 5.

Re: NBA Finals: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers

Hollinger picked us to win that might be the kiss of death. LOL.

The Perkins technical foul situation will be a factor in this series. I'm not sure he can control himself if he gets a bad call or gets instigated into reacting after a bump or getting tangled up in the post.

3 Things Worry about this series

    1. Rondo's speed
    2. Boston's pick & roll
    3. Inconsistency

The Lakers have struggled against speedy point guards throughout these playoffs. Westbrook, Williams, Nash & Dragic now you have to deal with the quickest of them all in Rondo. I'm not sure how the Lakers cheat off him because Boston has 4 other capable scorers on the floor. We got away with it in Phoenix because the Suns couldn't stop us on the other end, but Boston's defense is superior to anything Phoenix attempted.

The way to crack Boston's defense is to go hard to the rim and welcome the hard fouls. Dwight Howard had a lot of success when Jameer Nelson attacked the Celtics defense and dished it to Dwight or brought over the rotating defender leaving Howard open for a weakside put back. If the Lakers go into half court sets they need to operate fast and not allow the Celtics defense to settle in. We've had stretches in the game when the offense is stagnant and we throw up low percentage jump shots or get a turnover in the post. Gasol and Bynum need to be decisive when they catch the ball and go quick to the rim even though they'll likely get whacked on the way in.

I'd want Kobe guarding Rondo, Fish guarding Ray, Ron on Pierce, Pau on KG, and Drew on Perk.

Fish can't guard Ray especially with Ray going in circles non-stop. But yeah I can see Kobe guarding Rondo and switching at times to Ray, so it's basically pick your poison.

Rondo has to have a great series for us to win it IMO, he can't half ass it.

Re: NBA Finals: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers

That's what I'm thinking HK, I hear everyone saying (tv, articles) saying Kobe will guard Rondo and I can understand why, but then who guards Ray?, Fisher is big enough but can he last 30+ minutes chasing Ray everywhere on the court. It has to be a combination from LA IMHO, switching back and forth every other play that way they don't allow either Rondo or Ray get hot.

It's going to be a great series to see what coaches do, with all the matchups, etc, it basically comes down to that, who will do a better job will win the series. (something you'd always say Phil has an advantage, so we'll see)

It's the finals, I don't think Fish will have that much trouble with guarding Ray Ray.

You obviously haven't watched enough Celtics games and know what Allen does on the court.

Shoot a bunch of 3's? Just put a hand right in the face and I doubt he'll be making those.

Sure he'll make some but if Fish is playing good D, we can live with those.

Fisher has stepped up this post season. Will he be able to guard Ray 30+ minutes? Nope. But Fish + Sasha + Shannon should be able to chase him around. Sasha might even get under his skin :]

In my opinion, we have to keep Rondo in check more than we need to keep Ray in check. That is not me saying Ray is crap, but Rondo is more valuable to the Celtics offense than Ray is. Rondo will drive all over Fish ON TOP of his passing. I'd rather take that away.

    My prediction?

Kobe, KG, Ray Allen, Pau Gasol, and Paul Pierce will all retire before the tip off of game one. Should make for an interesting series...... ;)
